how large a screen do you want to display the photo?Originally posted by the Bear:oh.. i have a question... it's about resolution and photography... digital, that is..
if i have a good camera.. say, a D70, D80 or maybe even a D2Xs
i snap a picture at its highest resolution, maybe even RAW..
will i have problems with pixellation if i SHRINK the picture?
if so, will getting a 'high end' camera like a Hasselblad improve the quality of the shrunk picture?
i don't need a plane, i have wings of my own.Originally posted by av98m:ok, now I need to start copying CDs for the roach. He is going to die if he flies aeroplane tonight![]()

also take into account viewing distance. pixelation/jagged edges may not be visible to the human eye if you're standing at normal viewing distance, rendering the whole point moot e.g. giant ass blowups from 4 megapixel cameras have been used on billboards and stuff.
for example, look at a typical painting from normal distance and then closeup.

4R!?Originally posted by the Bear:oh.. i'm talking about taking a 12 megapixel jpeg file and trying to print a 4R photo

PLEASE LAH!!!!!! Any modern small compact digicam can do a more than good enough job liao!!!![]()
Why the *bleep* do you need a Hasselblad for 4R pictures?!?!Originally posted by the Bear:so.. what do you think?
my colleague's husband told her that it requires high-end equipment to take pics so that the pictures remain nice when SHRUNK...
he bought a hasselblad
look, you can 'prove' that stupid theory by blowing up the digital images on screen and comparing BUT there is no fucking difference when both files are printed on paper that size!!!Originally posted by the Bear:so.. what do you think?

your boss is an idiot.Originally posted by the Bear:i dunno.. she seems convinced.. so she said that to get good quality smaller pics, her husband bought a high-end camera..
and therefore, by the same theory, the DV tapes of the video which was good enough to make DVDs are not good enough for VCDs..
the boss swallowed that *&$^ hook line and sinker
