As economists would say, there are low barriers to entry for netbooks.
After all, netbooks make use of already-existing technology, with acceptable compromises that consumers are willing to accept. Which is why so many companies are jumping into the bandwagon.
And since it's so cheap and easy to build a netbook, and since they are targeting a small niche market of consumers who just want a small and simple laptop for word processing and email, they might as well just make it easily available at low prices. Which is why they got Carrefour to sell it. ![]()

i am looking out for one since last year too..
good for photo backup during overseas trips... better than those overpriced photobackup gadget which i heard many of them failed on my friends many times.. :( and the photogadget aint cheap...:(
