The Portugese, Dutch,Italians,Spanish, French, British and German have all had a go at world domination and colonisation of assorted parts of the globe , The only difference with the US empire is that it is usualy fought with the DOLLAR rather than the sword or fire power, Economic domination when the US it's self is in trillions of dollars of national debt is beyond my comprehention !

Warts and all, the world needs the United States, for no other state has such a wide reach around the world today.It's heartening to hear the young Marines on board their LPD off Aceh saying that they rather help deliver rice than go to Iraq. -

The pilots got lost, they broke rules, they thought they owned the country, they perceived they were the ones in charge of the operation. Which the rest of the world didn't agree on and went on their own business, while they carried on with theirs without anyone bothering about them.
They conveniently decided to show how to crash a chopper and see the rotor flip up in the sky. Of all places they showed it to the rest of the world's military and civilians at the busy Bandah Aceh airport.
Any after the crash, no one was even sympathetic. -

Hey I live a half hour north of the 49th parallel, America isn't that great. It's much better north of the border. Well, you know most of the prisoner abuse reports are the ones with pictures have been admitted to be true by the current adminstration.
I don't know if you're aware of this but most people don't like the fact that Americans are blinded by their patriotism that they can't admit that they f*ucked up. Remember when your pilot shot up our guys on a training mission in Afghanistan? How long did it take you guys to admit it? More than a year later. And not before all the bashing and denial on major American networks and shows, especially FOX.

it was easy enough to understand...
the US armed forces went in thinking they were God's gift to everyone and that they could do whatever the hell they wanted to..
they ended up crashing a 'copter, making total nuisances of themselves, endangering other people who were helping, and pissing everyone off with their "i'm here and you may now all worship me!" attitude...

And being an ally of the US is dangerous too. They even shot down a british plane in kuwait. Its nice to have all their fire power as support, but imo, you better be miles away when their support comes.
