In our opinion, nothing is impossible for God. No disease is incurable. That's IF u can even call it a disease anyway. After creating the world, i dont think this is gonna be a problem.Originally posted by AzRaeL:smoking is bad for the health, it's NOT the same as homosexuality where you are born that way.
Blaming Christians? No other religion stood up and started writing letters to oppose the new openness.
No other religion tries to change people and tell them that homosexuality is a curable disease.

Yes i know what u're gonna say.. "That's ur belief.. blah blah blah". Well i just wanted to tell u why we say that homosexuality is curable.
Oh, so becos i stated my opinion i was 'forcing my belief on others'? Wtf.Originally posted by the Bear:if you already know, then why go you try to force your beliefs on others?
why?
this is where "curable homosexuality" will lead to...
if it goes on, the first step into the downward spiral of fascism starts...

We do not hate them.. if anything.. we feel sorry for them. These people are not to be hated.. they deserve God's love. The thing we can hope for is that if they got to know the love of Christ, they would see and understand, for it is probably the only way to change them.Originally posted by the Bear:not you, but what it entails...
"nothing is impossible for God" that is true...
HOWEVER, armed with that, what would the church do?
if your church decides to discriminate and take a very hostile stand against any group, what would you do?
many have argued against the gay community out of pure bigotry, using God's name in vain to justify their own hatred...
where would you stand if it happens? well, it is happening... what is the next step when the "moral majority" can vote away or take away the rights of the minority?

Just becos one church is doing something that isnt right, u shouldnt assume this church is acting on behalf of all churches.
To ur last question: Whether it is people worshipping other gods, or himosexuals, the way to deal with them is not by discriminating them, but to try to show them the love that God has for them. If they dont wanna hear it, we can try, but there's not much we can do but pray for them.Originally posted by the Bear:i know gay people.. they don't want your sympathy.. they just want to be left alone, allowed to do what straight people do, that is, earn a living without discrimination, be allowed to walk down the street without being harrassed.. and everything straight people take for granted...
they deserve God's love... everyone does.. but if they do not want to hear about it, what do we do?
certainly not what is going on now...
condemnations all round... barriers put around them... and these are sanctioned by governmental and religious leaders...
who cannot accept that some people are different (born or chose to be, what is the difference??) and church and religion aside, shouldn't the country accept them? are they such a threat to humanity?
live and let live...
and i ask again and again, no one wants to answer... if this stand against the gay community is so vocal... saying that homosexuality is a sin.. yet, Thou shalt not have any other gods before me.. is acceptable?
DO u know what the hell u're talking abt? U dont even know me, dont tell me wat i can or cannot do! I cant bring myself to love them? FOr goodness sake, one of my really gd frens is gay, i love him just like how i'd love any other friend of mine. Yes, i couldn't love them if i tried, but the point is that i DONT try. I let Jesus do it. Jesus puts the love in my heart. Humans can do nothing by their own efforts. So dont tell me i dont love them becos i do. As if u know me at all.Originally posted by jOhO:i like bear, a no-sh[/i]it assessment, and he's a catholic himself.
summer-rain:
there is a difference between God loving them, and YOU loving them.
and dun gimme the sh[/i]it that u could bring urself to love them. cos if u do, u woulda said that already.
i'll give u a close-to-my-heart account. my brother is a pastor. my parents are staunch christians. i'm back slided to the point of no hope. these are the facts.
yes, god loves me, but my family loves me too, and that's why i'm still part of the family, even tho i may now be classified as "non-christian". while they might be sad to see me not walking in god's light, there is no way they would outcast and condemn me the way gay's get treated.
now that's a real life example for you.
another fact for u: i have loved gays b4. friends of course. if i had a gay reln with any of them i'd admit it, but i haven't.
i'm as bigoted as u but in another direction. i believe a bigoted christian can NEVER bring himself "down" to love a gay. that's it. to each his own, brother (or sister).
aiyah tok left tok right, it's still all about changing them.Originally posted by summerain22:DO u know what the hell u're talking abt? U dont even know me, dont tell me wat i can or cannot do! A christian can never love a gay? What abt those churches who are counselling gays? Do they not love them? Yes some so-called christians will discriminate against them. BUt this is NOT what God wants, nor the way it is supposed to be. But there are some who are doing the right thing, and that is to show them love.
Pls read ur last sentence? Does it make any sense? Love, not change them becos of love. Where in my post did i say anything abt changing them? All i said was that i love them just like anyone else. And love is unconditional, whether they change or not.Originally posted by jOhO:aiyah tok left tok right, it's still all about changing them.
i won't talk much lar.
my parents and brother love me and accept me now as a non-christian. they do NOT try to change me.
THAT is wat i meant about loving them. i said LOVE, sister, not CHANGE them becos of love (or jesus' love or watever).
un?
haha actually... i disagree abt this unconditional love..Originally posted by summerain22:Pls read ur last sentence? Does it make any sense? Love, not change them becos of love. yes, but there are only some!!! Not all!! And there is nothing u can do abt it anyway!!Originally posted by the Bear:yet there are those who would seek to change them... and when they fail to change the gay people, ostracise and discriminate against them..
the churches that are counselling them are showing them love, no? that's wat u wrote. to me, these churches are showing them support, love etc in a bid to change them. becos, well to them, to u, it's a sin!Originally posted by summerain22:Pls read ur last sentence? there are actually 3 kinds of love. agape, felio, and eros.
agape is God's love, unconditional, and it will make u a better person as u respond to it, eros, erotic love, lol meant for husband and wife, look at bar for more info lol, and felio, friendship. only God can agape(love) others. its a gift, since all of us cannot fully love EVERYONE unconditionally everytime. the only love most of us show is eros... based on the top 20 forums ratings.. nah just joking, most of us can only show felio love, and thats friendship. its not unconditional. look at our lives and our friends, or rather our enemies, and we know. it takes forgivenes of someone who offended u again and again, and even that is very hard to do.![]()
yes that is true. but it shouldnt stop us from loving anyway.Originally posted by dumbdumb!:haha actually... i disagree abt this unconditional love..

hyuk hyuk! sorry, still find that eros love super corny. lolOriginally posted by summerain22:yes that is true. but it shouldnt stop us from loving anyway.
Nah, u weren't very rude. Which is more than what i can say for others on this forum.Originally posted by jOhO:the churches that are counselling them are showing them love, no? that's wat u wrote. to me, these churches are showing them support, love etc in a bid to change them. becos, well to them, to u, it's a sin!
okok let's not debate on the literal words we use.
bottom line:
you - christian - thinks homosexuality is a sin, can be cured and will try to do it in Jesus' name/love.
me - non-christian - think it's PERFECTLY fine.
so i guess we will never reach a compromise. sorree if i sounded rude. u obviously aren't a gay basher, becos i can't stand those motherfu[/i]ckers. that given, many of these assholes are also non-christians. fair enuff statement?
Ahah.. now that u mention it.. it DOES sound a bit corny. =POriginally posted by dumbdumb!:hyuk hyuk! sorry, still find that eros love super corny. lol![]()
