Wouldn't you guys agree with my belief that Western society and Western media are obsessed with belittling the Chinese race and undermining its dignity? It keeps depicting Chinese women as cheap sex objects and Chinese men as non-entities. Both Western society and media keep putting forward images of Chinese women mated with Western (meaning white Caucasian) men. Well, just my two cents', anyway. If I'm right, this is something which needs to be fought against.

One case that Lingos forgot is Chow Yun Fatt - in fact, it took threats from the Hong Kong secret societies to finally get him to the US to film the Replacement Killers. Jet Li also enjoys a fair amount of popularity in lead roles there.
Along with the examples that Lingos has already put forward, I really cannot agree with what you have said.
Granted that in the late 60's Bruce Lee was passed over for the lead role in Kung Fu in favour of David Carradine - the producers felt that the audience could not identify with a Chinese lead character - but looking at the current trend, I believe those days are past.
As for cross-cultural backgrounds, I can't see Tiger Woods having a problem with that at all. -

In Australia
U can say they are always making fun of chinese. Bump into one and they would most likely than not laugh at our height and size.
In USA
No bad experience encountered, I give them a thumbs up.
In Singapore
Hmm... This is a tough call, I would say caucasians in SG behave relatively well, except when they are drunk. -

It would be obtuse to say that just because Hollywood misrepresents Germans, Italians, Russians etc, that situation necessarily justifies its misrepresentation of Chinese as well. I.e. just because they do it to others, it doesn't mean that they can do it to us, too.
And even so, these days there are far fewer instances of misrepresentation of Germans, Italians, etc than there are misrepresentations of Orientals, especially Chinese.
I've already noted that Chinese women are portrayed in the West as sex objects perpetually bedded by white caucasian men - no one has yet contested the accuracy of this view.
Gedanken, I've refrained from resorting to crude personal attacks and unwelcome amateur psychological appraisals of other forum members thus far, I'm most disappointed that you had to stoop so low and lower the bar on this discussion.
Then again, there seem to be a number of SPGs on this thread, which is something I hadn't looked too closely at before but can see now. These SPGs have readily and repeatedly resorted to the crude personal attacks I mentioned above, instead of keeping things civilised. Perhaps a case of the lady protesting too much? Indicative that they may be aware of the precariousness of their position, and are so desperate to defend it that they lose sight of even the niceties of courtesy? Yep.
