If there is the oyster in the watch, it's already rotting and decomposed. So thats why we dun see it.![]()

the way i see it, you and your clones are not potential buyers, after all your lack of respect is not unexpected going by the way you "participated" around the forums.Originally posted by oldbreadstinks:and i wouldn't be surprised if more people like you guys turn up to post here.
i welcome enquires about my watch as long as they make sense even if they're made out of curiousity and not out of interest in my watch .
as for clowns, they get the replies they deserved
So??Originally posted by oldbreadstinks:the way i see it, you and your clones are not potential buyers, after all your lack of respect is not unexpected going by the way you "participated" around the forums.

with this kind of attitude, you wont' get buyers.Originally posted by oldbreadstinks:so now you're illiterate too?
You have much more better attitude than TS.Originally posted by Gedanken:The oyster here refers to the Oyster case, a name that Rolex has used since 1926. It refers to the design of the watch's case, whereby the caseback and crown are both screwed in, creating a hermetically sealed case within which the movement is housed.
The design of the case has evolved over that time, with the crowns now being Twinlock (2 sealing gaskets) ot Triplock (3 gaskets), some models having crown guards protecting the crown and coming in various sizes from 29 to 40mm diameter. Despite all the developments, the hermetically-sealed case is still denoted by the Oyster name.
Now can we move on?
dude, its a rolex. how cheap u expect it to b? dun create trouble for TS lah.Originally posted by musiclover779:You have much more better attitude than TS.
Why I asked is becos, i've seen watches face which is actually mother-of-pearl shell, instead of a white face. which I find is quite nice with all the rainbow colour.
Since TS mentioned ''oyster'', I thought along the line of a mother-o-pearl face...
Thanks for explaining (but I still dun want to buy. Not nice, ordinary, unimpressive and yet SOOOOOO EXPENSIVE).![]()
Ahh, the difference is that OBS wants to sell the watch and I'm a collector, so we take different approaches to the subject. Not too many Rolex owners know about the Oyster case anyway.Originally posted by musiclover779:You have much more better attitude than TS.

yeah the size kinda restricts the amount of buyers so i'm actually hanging on to a men's size and selling this one and not likely to go to a dealer since i got overcharged the first time i brought from them and its unlikely that i would get a good priceOriginally posted by Gedanken:OBS, it may be wiser to approach a dealer with the watch. Your watch would be much harder to offload than one of the professional models, and the size won't help either.
don't worry, you're the last one i expect to buy anything hereOriginally posted by musiclover779:You have much more better attitude than TS.

2nd, stainless steel is not worth anything.
I'm not going to deal with OBS' asking price - that's for him to answer.Originally posted by musiclover779:Something is wrong.
Why would someone just buy a watch for $10,000++ and not know much about it and then, sells it in a forum for $4,000? Strange, isn't it?
is it as strange as someone who spends his free time like you? compared to you i seem to be more "normal" , unless you can prove to me the majority of the forumites here like to go around posting $1 bids for multiple items they don't want?Originally posted by musiclover779:

Thank you once again, your explanation is very clear and you've been helpful.
If you're the seller (instead of some ''stinky-old-bread''), I would buy from you.

you always feel that courtesy and etiquette should be universal? maybe if you can explain logically how that is so i might be able to believe you.
like maybe your hands are not attached to your arms, or something like someone pointing a gun at your head when you posted in the last couple of threads i saw you in.
you definately don't look like you feel that way with the way you post.

wow what a wonderful idea! did you come up with that because you're too poor to buy one at 4k or because you're just trying to stir things up to show how smart you are?Originally posted by musiclover779:You're not a smart shopper, are you?
So you're trying to say $4,000 is overpriced? Make it $50 then. I think alot of ppl will buy.![]()

no problem , just transfer the money over and i'll reserve it till the next working day unless you can't come up with the rest.Originally posted by Classyfied:i bid $12.34
If you want to sell, you have to see if anyone is WILLING to buy/pay that kind of price it. Normally, re-sale/2nd hand, the price will be slashed 80% at least.Originally posted by Gedanken:Uhh, beg to differ.
Rolex's professional (sports) line holds the highest resale value, and more often than not it's the stainless steel models that draw in the highest prices owing to providence.
.......if I wanted to offload it now, I could get at least $8600 for it in less than a week.
I bid $13 as the full price for that watch.Originally posted by Classyfied:i bid $12.34
When some ppl pay so much money and yet still didn't question the staff enough about the item, something is wrong.Originally posted by Gedanken:I'm not going to deal with OBS' asking price - that's for him to answer.
However, as for Rolex owners not knowing about the Oyster case, it's as good as car owners not knowing about the operating principles of internal combustion engines, isn't it?
Good point about the market that exists for the watch. Not that I ever buy any of my watches to sell, but the ones I have picked up could very easily be moved. The 80% rule applies to many products, but you'll find that Rolex sports watches are often sold at a price higher than that of the original purchasing price.Originally posted by musiclover779:If you want to sell, you have to see if anyone is WILLING to buy/pay that kind of price it. You can have the most expensive rolex model, but if no one wants to buy, it's as good as nothing.
And, rolex is only a brandname. Ppl pay ten-thousands for a ''name'' only. Stainless steel itself has no re-sale value. FYI.
Unfortunately, I find that threadstarter's watch is still unsold. Nobody wants.Originally posted by Gedanken:......but you'll find that Rolex sports watches are often sold at a price higher than that of the original purchasing price.
Of course stainless steel has little resale value in and of itself, but let's keep it in context here. As I said, as far as Rolexes go, there's little, if any, issue about the watches being made of stainless steel because the market's there for it.My kitchen sink is also made of stainless steel leh..
Okay, once again.Originally posted by musiclover779:My kitchen sink is also made of stainless steel leh..
Maybe I should go to a pawnshop to see how much my sink is worth? It's heavier than a watch, so should be higher price?![]()
