Its a pity that the engine isnt strong enough to complement the design. Its like a Japan 1.6cc engine inside a 2.0cc coupe body. A coupe with performance of a sedan.
Thats why the pricing of Tuscani is in category with some 1.6 sedans models. Will anyone consider buying if it is higher? They have to price that low for a coupe to entice people to consider.
Although there is nothing great about Tuscani, cars isnt cheap here. Not many people can afford cars even its picanto.
Just be happy what you have.

350Z is not 'poor mans' becuz it is expensive and it is the OWNER'S CHOICE not to get an Evo or Rex but u KNOW he can afford to if he wants. And it does have 280 bhp still to back it up.
Whereas Tus was called 'poor mans' becuz it SEEMS tat ppl can't afford any other sports car so buy the Tus which is ho-kua (debatable) bo ho jia. -

All car have different construction, structures and weight for different purpose. "Performance Car" is a general words used by insurance company for classification and also used by layman who dunno much about car.

Anyway, this thing has deviated from the main point.
Let's just put it this way... the Tus is like a skinny guy who loves to wear sleeveless tops. Maybe he just likes sleeveless? Maybe weather hot he want to air armpits? Well maybe. But when ppl see him, sure got some will tink "Wah lau, no muscle want to wear sleeveless?"
Or a girl with Cup A who love to bang bua liap. Cant blame when ppl think "hee, so small" or when she walk past a Cup C girl who also bang bua liap, then kena compared. Its not tat we condemn Cup A girls, it is absolutely fine and not to mention beyond our control, but its when they want to flaunt it does it become an issue of criticism.
Similarly, a Fat girl with fats spilling out but still insist on wearing midriff.
Or a bag with the same "LV" Monogram design except that the monogram is "CV". Let's say the bag is also of good quality and the price is good and the brand is actually quite ok one. But if u buy it, confirm ppl will think u are trying to pass off as LV?
Dun tell me these issues dun exist AT ALL, esp here in Sg.
So why do ppl go for this "In between the cracks" category when it usually elicits negative judgement and response from others?

A few owners have oredi spoken... "cuz its within budget" and "acceptable performance" and even "quite embarrassing" are some of the words that have come up. If you think "coupe" is a wtf class.... Then you shld go and tell this to DaimlerChrysler. And ask them why they have CL class and CLK class. And DaimlerChrysler is proudly calling this 2 type of cars a coupe.
PG or Sepang using a 1.6 Civic??? Basically are you trying to use the quarter miles race thingy again??? To be frank, the performance of a car is not just dashing on a straight road. It consist of many factors, i.e. road handling, stability at high speed, etc. If you really keen to on at PG or Sepang, I think there will be at least one Tuscani would like to have fun with you. But provided you show yourself up and not hiding behind the computer.
For your info, there are racing development team and company for Tuscani in both korea and US. There have wide range of stuffs, inclusive of TC and SC kits for both I4 and V6 that can throw out 200bhp - 400+bhp depending on which FI setup and which stage. Not only japan have racing, but korean and american who race too and probably more than japanese. Just that you dun know.
Another info for you. Japanese are proud of themselve and their product. Therefore they will seldom develop anything for stuffs that are developed by other country. So it's not that jap race team dun develop for Tuscani, but it's their culture to stop them develop for Tuscani. I have their blood and brought up in this kind of enviroment, and that's why I know.
So far from what I know is that the jap Co do developed stuffs for Tuscani, e.g. Veilside and a few. The reason they do it, becoz they see the potential of the market due to potential of this car. -

Mm..mm... after all this comments made, does anyone know how does the tus comes about? Who design it and is actually designed for which car maker in the first place? And what's the combination of the different models design in in the Tus? Why ppl wonder & heads turn during the test drive in Europe highways for the first time?
Guitarman1, I think... Couple is a general layman terms only for 2 doors. But be sure to know that Tus is a fun-car. Not a sports car or performance range. Insurance will be ex if this is a sports classified. And since then, I think there's no need to compare with other classes of cars or performance or even pricing ...blah,blah, blah..
It's a class of it's own within the fun-car range... NOT performance range (Stocks), Not Sports car range too. Fun-car must look good also, performance will be secondary.
Well.... Should the Tus is branded under other Conti car maker, who dare to say it's a cheap car????? I think there won't be anything under 100K. -
Very true, most of of perfomance part for Tuscani and other korean models come from American places... To those rich people who bought Tuscani as 3rd car or above, I have nothing to say against them.
For those who have to carefully monitor their budget or need 5years or more to pay off Tuscani loan, in my opinion its sounds like somebody's lame attempt to pass off as someone who is sporty and rich. Good try. May work on those who doesnt know much about cars.
If you need to take max loan, you belong to the extreme group of people who is 'attempting' to show off at all costs. -

Yes tuscani make lag behind in specs or watever, but the main selling point is it is VALUE for $$$ . -

Why you keep comparing it with horsepower???.. have you actually driven a tuscani?..And if you dont know, the more horsepower, the more fuel consume. Why you want to buy a gulper in singapore.. petrol aint cheap. for a full tank plus correct driving, my tuscani can do 460-480KM on a full tank.
