Vandergal: Not outside the restaurants..it's the private estate that is perpendicular to Michelangelos - along Jln Rumia...those parking lots right outside the private houses. I think URA converted one side of the roads into public parallel parking lots and those who park there need to use coupons. It was obviously targetted at me becoz the cars in front of me and behind me weren't scratched.
I know what you mean abt not parking properly. It was a narrow road so I really made sure that I was within the parking lot so as not to block the way of others. On my way to Holland V, I horned and flicked my light at this Lexus SUV that was crawling at 30km/h in front of me and I couldn't filter. Maybe the driver was the culprit...
Wahh...I was so upset that I really couldn't drive properly after that. The scratch is almost the length of my car! I can see the white base - does that mean it's a very deep scratch? I guess I would have to bring it for touch-up. Is your touch-up good as in the colour is similar to the original?
Tedz: Pls be careful! Don't ever park at Holland V!
Kamen: It's a great idea to compile the list of touch-up shops.
And I will seriously consider reporting to the police. -

I am reaching my 1st servicing soon. Could anyone advise whether to book on sat 3pm is a good idea?
What should i take note during the servicing? -

Could you let me know where you painted your car? I feel more comfortable using the services of someone whom members of this forum have used before. After a good nite's sleep, I feel much better this morning! And oh yes, my husband kept wanting to go home after discovering the scratch - he was so worried on the road that I wld get into an accident

I drive an OPC. I went for my 2nd servicing on a Sat morn (830am) and it was quite fast. Went for breakfast and within 1.5hrs, my car was done. I read somewhere in this thread (or forum) that doing in the afternoon could be a better idea because there are more staff servicing your car. Maybe you want to check with Tan Chong. -

hey people!
read the newspaper today? there's an article on "Top-value wheels". our marchies not even on the list featured there!!!
our cousin sunny boy is the only one featured! is our babe really so not a good value. those journalist do not know what they are missing out man! rite guys?!

depends on what criterias they use to measure, for top value i would guess its how much metal and plastic you get for how much dollar you pay. this being the case many korean cars will be at the top of the list (i havent read the papers yet), they are cheap and reasonably good. my family bought a kia cerato, this is really value for money.Originally posted by tedz:hey people!

however i dun think that visual appeal, aesthetic, branding, exclusivity, feel good factor, features beyond the basic necessity, are at the top of their consideration list, if they are there at all.
most likely their considerations will be spaciousness, having as many basic features as possible, low low price etc etc.
my office's scientists rushed to grab the sunny recently when they learnt that the price was all time low. when i tried to stop them, they told me that they only needed a transport mean to go from point A to point B, nuttin more. boring people!
our marches are different class entirely, it should not be in the value-for-money class in the first place. -

Yup agree with Kamen, our car is more up-market compared to a lot of other small cars (less than 1.4L), which explains why its not as mainstream as say the Getz. But I doubt many of us chose the MArch because it was value for money, but rather its great features and unique looks. -

I just had my first 1K servicing at TC Toa Payoh and it took me only 40mins! I did mine on a weekday at 7pm, so there was no waiting time. I think sat are normally fully booked cos most pple are not free on weekdays, so you'll prob have to wait about 2hrs before your car is ready. Anyway if you do decide to book on a sat you have to book 1 week in advance cos very popular.
Remember to remove all valuables frm the car before you give it to them, eg. cash card, opc parking coupons etc... -

March is definitely NOT a value for money car. Thats why its still 'rare' as compared to the Sunnys and Vios or Altis. These cars gives the space, 1.5l/1.6l engine size and reliability that many pple likes comparing to the March 1.4l. The time when i bought the car, the Sunny and Vios are priced lower (dunno abt today though) and to me they are more value for money. As for the Altis, it seems that traditionally, Toyota Corolla has been a good value car with good resale value. Dunno abt the market now as in the past Corollas are made in Japan. Hmm if i did not remember wrongly, something like 210/220 KPa(i think its KPa) for front and 220/230 KPa for back in general for myself. I am using 14" rims. Maybe diff size have diff requirement. And also if you ferry pple all the time, fuel consumption, blah blah blah. Better check with others here or maybe NYC can give you advise. For stock rims 14ich, 15ich rims and non tubeless tyres...! front 220 back 230( if you carry passage frequent). Every fortnight you have to check your tyre pressure....for stock rims.

My FC has improved slightly....It used to be around 9.75km/litre...After my first 1k servicing and changing to the Shell 98 graded petrol, the FC has improved to about 10.4km/litre....Still not ideal though but see some improvement..... I have travelled only about 1800 km after close to 2 months on the road.... One of my friend is currently driving a Honda City and he got his car at around the same car as mine. He use the 95 graded petrol but am able to achieve 14km/litre....Sigh! I hope to report more good news to you all months down the road.....

I think that is a good idea....I have always wanted to drive there but till now, I still have no guts to do so because I am worried that my car may get vandalised there (not so worried about being stolen cos during the first year, I can always get back a new car at the market value if it is stolen). Until now, I have been taking public transport to JB regularly....If there is a group of us who are interested to drive there, lets do it man.....

Mercedes, BMW, Saab, Volvo, Jaguar, VW and the likes were never 'value for money' cars! Should be glad that this new generation of Marchies don't belong there because it's a luxury mini!
