this guy is soooooo silly....u'll know why later. his car was on the extreme right lane ( a right turn only lane) n i was on the next lane (a go straight or right turining lane)....when the traffic light turns green...i went straight ahead..naturally heading towards the extreme right lane after crossing the junction. this guy which was suppose to turn right but went straight as well n wanted to take MY lane!!!! i was ahead of him n could see him coming from my right side mirror.....tried to "siam" him but when i glanced at my left side mirror, another car was on the left lane so i could not swirl towards the left lane to avoid that fellow n "bang"...kanna liao! he hit me!!!
both came out to argue...he claimed that i do not know how to drive n that i eat into his lane! i was so fumming mad n told him that this is my lane n he was suppose to turn right n not go straight n take my lane!!!! he still insist that it's my fault! we argued but to no conclusion. guess what?! this guy smell of very strong alcohol. i was saying i'll call the police n we settle insurrance claim but something stopped me after what marchmoo mentioned in our last outing that if we got into an accident with a drink driving car...we cannot claim against his insurrance company as they won't pay! so with that at the back of my mind n plus i thot see if i can "hung" him that i report police so he will at least pay me some $$$ but that fellow say "u call lah! i'll pass the breathe-test one!" then also i "heart soft" thot i want to give him a chance too!book for drink driving penalty quite "chia lat" one!
then he suddenly ask me to go get it done n he will pay the workshop. finally come to an agreement. exchange no. n took down his name n IC no.
NOW/......after i drove off....i realised something!!!!
i forgot to take down his vehicle no.!!!!!!!
so now i cannot even file a report against him to claim his insurrance!.....urghhhhhhhh!!!!!
and there's more.... called him the next day but could not get him at all!!!! he didn't pick up my phone calls the whole day!ahhhh! cheater! bastard!
ok now lesson learnt:
1) never be too kind as it doesn't pays
2) never loose ur cool even that fellow kept accusing u n saying that it was ur fault even though it was not ur fault at all.
3)keep ur cool n know what to do. we can forget to take down any other particlulars but die die also must take down his vehilcle no.!
fyi...that was the first time i got into an accident in my 13 yrs of driving experience so didn't really know what to do....
well, i'll take that as a learning experience so next time if it ever happen again (which i hope it will never happen again),i'll know how to react!

In another way, pls call him using another phone, the best is with private number...dun try it once but try it with alot of different number...impossible that ass wont pick up ur call.....

It depend on your insurance agent....if NTUC...then go to IDAC then it is free otherwise for AIA go directly to any Tan Chong, they can help you. Previously for my case with SBS bus, I also trust the guy (even though many of my frz told me not to) and also can remember the vehicle no. too but he is kind enough to pay me back .....eventhough by installment

thanks for the advise. i've lodged a report already to my insurance company n IDAC but they said that i can forget all particulars but it is very important to furnish them with the vehicle no.!
then i've also tried calling him using other numbers but he didn't pick up at all!

u are so right............but tedz u r so lucky that the guy was drunk n he did not turn into a road bully, i had a road bully was so unstable on the feet but he was pissed at me horning at him n he shouted at me to get out of the car n he open the boot n took out a pole !!! guessing that he was taking a big swing at me , i locked all doors, hit the reversed gear, dropped my hp on the floor n quickly got the hell out of there...!!! went to the other side to call 999...If I dial 999, I'll probably get death sentence for using HP while driving, if I don't dial 999, he'll get away, if I follow him all the way to his destination and dial 999, police is said if I have any proof and if I was alone than I probably wasted my time .....then i finally called....the police say no number plate no CASE !!! -

Thanks for the info abt the Sim Ming Est... that leads me to another question abt the WARRANTY from TAN CHONG. Does that mean i can't change parts of the car with any other workshop for the next 2.5 years? which workshop has the best service for NISSAN?

maybe idac can tell you the car colour and make and you can verify if this is the car? -

Sorry to hear about your little accident. I got into a slight fender bender just last month too, luckily the other car's bumper hit me underneath my wheel arch, so the damage is quite unnoticeable unless you look really close. Same thing, other driver blame it on me, ask me to learn to drive better...
Point is, just want to share with all you people here (abit late for Tedz but maybe useful to others here, sorry Tedz ), I learnt that there's no point in blaming each other for the accident, cos the outcome won't be decided by that. If the other driver is at fault, and doesn't want to settle on the spot, then you can take down his license plate and IC nbr and file a report. YOUR NCB WILL NOT BE AFFECTED if the insurance company claims against his insurance, so you have nothing much to lose by filing a report. In fact if you don't file a report, and the other party does, then you will most likely be held responsible for the damages because it would appear that you are trying to hide something. So remember, if you are quite sure that the other party is at fault (once the accident occurs, try to think carefully who has right of way instead of screaming your head off at the other driver), then explain to him that you are willing to settle this on the spot to save both of you the trouble of filing a report. If he refuses, then take down his license plate (name and ic if possible, some people may not coorperate), then file a report within 24hrs. Best if you have a camera, take a photo of his car license plate at the location of the accident so that he cannot deny it (camera phone can come in real handy here). DUN BE BULLIED INTO THINKING THAT THE ACCIDENT WAS YOUR FAULT SO YOU SHOULD PAY HIM MONEY. Even if you give him money he can still file a report and claim damages against you. So just tell the other driver firmly that you are not going to pay him any money because its not your fault, and that you are going to file a report, and let him know that if he doesn't file one too then he will most likely have to pay for all the damages. You can leave the accident location after you have gotten his license plate, no need to stand there and let him continue to blame you, but its advisable to go straight to Tan Chong to report the accident.
I also agree that's its important to keep a cool head after the accident, cos it'll help you to think straight once its happened. Think of it this way, your car is already damaged, so no amount of shouting is going to make it disappear, might as well try to make the best of it and let your insurance company handle the rest, so FILE A REPORT! It may take a while but it sure beats having to fork out your own money to pay for the damage.
BTW I also didn't manage to get the other driver's license plate that time, can you believe I took a photo of her car plate, then forgot to save it!!! So dumb right? Anyway lucky she didn't bother to file a report, so I just let it go even though my poor March kena scratched. Quite sure if I had filed a report I could have gotten my whole rear bumper changed. Anyhow just to let you all know, you will only lose your NCB if you claim against your own insurance, but there are some circumstances where you may not lose it even if you do claim against your own insurance...I read this in the AIG insurance booklet, and confirmed it with AIG over the phone. For those who are unsure of how an insurance claim works, that booklet is pretty useful (I only read it after I got bumped into... ). -

Anyone know of how I can siam the fine? Kamen, any tips from your extensive experience haha? The only excuse I can think of now is that I had a bad stomach ache, but somehow I don't think it'll hold any water...
And guess what? It happened at the same place where I got bumped into last month...so suay man! Think I'll have to avoid driving along that stretch of road from now on...

Last month, we received a ticket from TP for parking at double yellow line. Guess wat, we went down personally and explain to the duty officer in a polite manner-- of course not to forget to act a bit innocent. As wat Kamen said "try to mention your action was done due to safety" Use your story telling skill like cos in front the car was moving so slow (road hogging) and you already past the line and for the seek of safety you already halfway through so have to go ahead while the traffic turns Red- just a story from us-dun know if it really works.

Speeding:
Exceeding 1 - 20km/h = $130 + 4 demerit points.
Exceeding 21 - 30km/h = $150 + 6 demerit points.
Exceeding 31 - 40km/h = $180 + 8 demerit points.
Exceeding 41 - 50km/h = $200 + 12 demerit points + Court.
Exceeding 51 - 60km/h = $200 + 18 demerit points + Court.
Exceeding 61km/h = $200 + 24 demerit points + Court.
If you want to be hero and fight the court case yourself, and you
lose,
you pay the court charges yourself, which will add up to your fine. I
guess the court charges is at least $200 and above.
Careless driving = $150 + 6 demerit Points.
Inconsiderate Driving = $170 + 9 Demerit Points + Court.

Drink Driving = Up to $5,000 Fine and/or Jail Term + Licence
Suspended
Court. For first offence.
2nd time offence = Jail term + Fine + Court.
Making an illegal U Turn when there's no U Turn sign = $70.
Fail to Signal when changing lanes = $70.
Driving at night without headlights or taillights switch on after
7pm=$30.
No Number Plate = $70.
Obstructed Number Plate = $70.
Obscured Number Plate = $70.
Number Plate Of Unapproved Type = $70.
As for Demerit Point system:
Let's say you have 0 points on 1st January 2005, and you committed
the
offence of Failing to Put on Seat Belt. So now, you will have 3
demerit
points and this wil last for 1 Year. If during this 1 year you have
no
demerit points offence at all, your 3 demerit points will be gone on
1/1/2006.
But, if during this one year, From 1/1/2005 - 1/1/2006, you commited
another offence with demerit points, your very first offence will be
extended for another year until 1/1/2007. -

1st reason: this lady one time,kena caught in beating red light. $70 fine. she was told to write in with reason that there is a big bus in front of her car and there was super heavy traffic (it's true that there was a heavy traffic - town area) (big bus is not true). so as she trying to follow the bus moving along, she cant see the traffic lights, coz blocked by the big bus.
Mostly in your letter, you must be professional, and sound sincere and apologetic. assured them that you will never repeat the same mistake again. it is not yr intention to evade summons......
i must say you can have 80% chances of getting waived!
so long as you bother to make an effort to appeal, chances is very high for waive.
on the ticket, there's always an email address or fax number.
different organisations have different tickets, so you need to read the ticket properly on who to write to. usually there is statement saying "for enquiries, please contact who and who". something like tat.......
