Road hoggers vs tailgaters

Who say anything about weaving in and out of traffic? This guy already say no traffic and he driving in overtaking lane another car come behind him he don't want to pull left he say the other driver must over take on left. i hope you guys are not trying to tell me that out of 10 tailgating vehicles, 8 of them has to resort to tailgating to rush their ailing family members to hospital or whatever. Seems that more and more such vehicles are playing the roles of ambulances and it's getting unbelievable and ironic, LOL

But road hogging is also wrong. You keep saying is ok to block others and no need to move off overtaking lane even if you can.
You don't want to give way to others, you keep saying you can stay in the overtaking lane even if left lane is empty. Even if another car want to go by. That is wrong! You give so many excuse always insist you are right. Better don't drive. -

If a driver curses a road-hogger for blocking his way, for sure he is a narrow minded person. Let's hope his blood vessel bursts out of his frustration. I don't give a damn if this bugger behind me is cursing or swearing at me, cos i know the problem lies with him, not me. God bless him. I'm just concentrating on my driving and abiding by the speed limit. I've never claimed i'm proud of my road hogging habit, but i've never got into trouble with the law before. On normal roads, the speed limit is only 50km/h. There is nothing wrong cruising at the right lane at 45km/h on normal roads, get your bloody facts right. -

Right lane r for overtaking not for hoggers or speeders as well. So nobody has the right to conquer the whole right lane at all. Like this fairness for all motorists..
For slower car ..law abiding ones please stay at the middle lane dun hog on the right .. Speeders r offending let them be ..kena summon, points demerited also none of the buggers business.. !

If some guy is going way over the speed limit, and you do not give way to him, that will force him to slow down to the speed limit. I see no need for the to create express lane by practice or by law for those who like to speed. For those who like speed, pray that you don't kill someone or yourselves.

Ok lah! You win. What speed you want to drive is right speed. Any lane can drive no need to give way to other driver. No need to use head on the road. Don't go over speed limit enough. Only must follow 1 road law. Do 50 in lane 2 of 90km/h highway also can. Is not speeding. Well, I have only one post to add... not going to bother replying after this.
I was living in Woodlands 2 years ago when my mum called. My dad suffered a major heart attack and was in hospital. I was rushing off to see him and encountered idiots like these on the road who insist that its their God given right to cruise in the overtaking lane regardless of traffic conditions. Traffic wasn't heavy, it was just being held up by road hogs. (Before you start to assume things, no - I did not tailgate anyone. I kept the 2 second distance and overtook on the left when possible).
Needless to say, I did not make it to the hospital on time and could not say my last farewell to my dad. This is why I despise you selfish, inconsiderate drivers who give 1001 excuses rather than drive with thought to others.
You always insist that you are "law abiding citizens". Well have you forgotten that law abiding citizens behind a wheel have the responsibility to be aware of traffic around them and act/react accordingly as well?
You seem to think that the roads are made up of 2 types of drivers only - road hoggers and tailgaters. And since you aren't tailgaters you are right!
Picture this, Car A is cruising at 90 in the over taking lane, car B is slowly pulling up behind. Car A doesn't give way and car B slows down and follows with the 2 second distance recommended. Car B isn't tailgating, but is Car A now still in the right for not giving way?
The guy in Car B could be:
1. A reckless idiot out to speed.
2. A moron who couldn't tell time and is now late.
3. A hapless guy with bad diarrhea.
4. A concern person rushing to see a dying loved one in hospital.
5. A concern person rushing a dying loved one to a hospital.
6. A guy with a bomb in his car that goes off if he goes under 120 (yeah... from Speed).
Road hoggers will come up with stupid excuses like, "Yah, speeders are all reckless thrill seekers". ...but frankly, how can driver in car A tell for sure which is the driver in car B?
They can come up with baseless statistics and even go as far as label others as naive for doing the right thing and giving car B the benefit of the doubt.. but ultimately - HOW CAN YOU TELL WHICH OF THE ABOVE IS THE GUY IN THE SPEEDING CAR???
A road hog can even be arrogant and act like it's his duty to slow down other drivers... But frankly, is it a "law abiding" driver's responsibility to slow down other drivers by blocking their way? ...or is it their responsibility to be aware of road conditions and react accordingly?
Given my situation, even if a traffic cop pulled me over. If I told him why I was speeding, chances are he would have turned on his siren and helped me get to the hosipital over the speed limit (at a reasonable speed) all the way. Even if if booked me after that... any human being in his shoes with the authority would have helped me. So who are you to decide that I have no right to drive faster than the stipulated speed?
Your only arguement is that between you and the speeding guy, the speeding guy is wrong. Traffic isn't made up of just the 2 of you! What about driver C?

You can kid yourself into thinking that it's all the speedsters fault, but you are every much to blame for the accident as he is! Either way, don't kid yourself! You are every much to blame as the speedster for getting driver C involved in the accident!!!

I have every wondered myself if i am in the same predicament as you and if i meet up with such drivers (no morons) on the road.
I recall once reading an article in straits times abt a husband driving her pregnant wife on the road shoulder during a jam. He water had broken and she desperately needed to get her to the nearest hospital. Along the way, TP stopped him. Upon learning of the situation, they actually turned on the sirens and cleared a path on the shoulder while the husband drove immediately behind, all on the shoulder.
These are situations where breaking the law is the right thing to do (perhaps the only option available)
Unfortunately, typical singaporean opportunitists as we are, a whole gang of cars followed suit behind them, definitely not because they had wives who were equally urgent. -

Sadly that is the law, not justice. Blame gets you nowhere except more anger and frustration.
Which is why i can sympathise with the CEO of Premier Cab who went on a road rage when some young punk knocked into his car. (at least justice was done when the man was not jailed, a common outcome) -
can't resist but wanna add something onto this topic..perhaps mr "tailgate hater" should retake his driving lessons & always drive on the extreme right lane during the lessons & test. if u can pass by doing that, then everyone else should start throwing the driving licence into the bin and burn it!
