but once you get your March, be prepared to leave your Toyota friends in the dust, letting them smell your exhaust fumes while you speed off.
most of us waited for about 1 month to get their car after confirmation. which is about 2 weeks after securing COE, thaz provided the car is ex stock spore.
parking for the March is definitely super easy, again, be prepared to see your Toyota driving bro in law struggle with parking while you steer the steering wheel with 1 finger.

I agreed i must be crazy to buy a car of its cuteness... i didnt even bother to ck its specs... realli know nothing about cars in the first place.
my ideal car is 4 way drive though... but i cant afford cars of that range...
hence my choice went down to a March.
I guess the best way is not to check out the prices of new March later...

thaz precisely words spoken by the many ignorant pple giving lousy advise. either they thought a "cute cute" car shouldnt be speeding or they are just plain jealous. tell them to come check this forum and show them the info one page before (where we compared some performance specs).

if you looked carefully, the frog eye like headlamps have another little bump on them. when switched on, and when you sit high enough, you will be able to see them indicating the front corners of your March. this will guide you in your parking.Originally posted by purecat:Bumps on headlight ?

see, how much ingenuity the March designers have put up in your car. it is no wonder the March has won the best design award awhile back at the Geneva motor show. -

no lah i am not rich.. Rav 4/honda CRV type is an ideal car mah... ideal but i dont have the ideal money to buy that kinda of car.
so settle with March.. though March is ex but not as ex as Jazz...so still ok. -

today, i saw my March's under belly for the first time.
sent her to the workshop at the back of a Mobil petrol kiosk near my house to change just the engine oil.
"wah, your car so small have such a HUGE gear box ah??!!"
"wah, so small car have such a HUGE petrol tank ah??!!"
"wah, this car must be something!! got SO many cool stuff ah??!!"
"oorrr, i think this car is designed for durability... so good quality..." i dunno where they get the idea from...
the 2 technicians kept oohing and aahing while doing the engine oil, certainly have not handled a March before.
they charged $20 for labour for changing just engine oil. heard can get $15 elsewhere, but i just wanted to go nearby.
i met this Mr. Pang from RP again and we chit chatted while picking up the oil from him. he gave me some discount, this time each quart is $10 as compared to $11.50 earlier. i thought it was big deal (cheapskate me).
he reported that RP is doing quite well in Malaysia (esp Penang) as he was there doing promotion recently. many workshops are preparing to push his product ever since MY is opening her door to imported cars.
in SG he's also beginning to see other car clubs coming to him for bulk purchases. he's planning to do some promos somewhere after the CNY and he will be inviting us to join in the programs.
i told him "anytime". -

Was in your dillema a year and a half back but guess i never regretted getting a March as i drive among the Corollas and Vios. No point of you chang new engine oil and not replace the old oil filter... !
Not sure those Petrol station carry nissan k12 oil filter, is awaste of $ if you change oil and not change oil filter...! -

You are buying a renault designed car with a jap engine. Try to look at it in a very positive way. Our car petrol input is on our driver side (right) and most Euro cars are right side input like ours !!! As for Jap designed cars, they are on the left. Is a Euro design with a jap engine... best of both worlds.
Pricing the new march is an issue right now, among the cash cow like Sunny.
The new model march has the same engine as Latio ( with CVT gear box ), as for our existing model BK12, is a 4AT gear box.... Is latio,sunny vs march for 1.5L cars.... ! let's wait and see. Price is expensive.. becos of the change in engine specs/out looks for new facelift...! Next feb will know the outcome...!
As for power, bare with me and i will try to explain the logic behind.
1.4 March factory specs of 98 bhp / 975kg.
Which will be faster in taking off at the traffic light 0-100 below 12 Secs.
1. A horse that pulls 9.94kg ( 975kg / 98 bhp = 9.94 ) MARCH 1.4
2. A horse that pulls 10.3kg ( 1108kg / 108bhp = 10.25) "Sample Car A"
The march or the sample car A, our car is fast in pick up for 2nd/ 3rd gear if you floor your paddles. The weight of the car is light and the car produces abt 98 horse power. In specs and tech prospective the car is above average in terms of power against some of the factory spec 1.4 L cars. Driver also plays a part too...

Topic: OIL FILTER CHANGE !
The oil filer's primary function is to "sift" or remove oil contaminants. The filter allows oil to flow through while restricting solid contaminants, preventing them from re-entering the engine lubricating areas. When the oil filter element becomes full or "clogged", the oil and contaminants flow around the filter element. This is called "by-passing." Â….. By-passing occurs, contaminants return to the engine, possibly causing damage to moving parts, accelerating sludge formation.
When Automotive air filters have always required periodic maintenance. An automotive engine runs much smoother when the air filter is clean. If the filter is wet, damaged, or dirty, it should be replaced with a new one designed specifically for your engine. Running your car with a clogged filter could result in hard stalling, stalling and poorer Fuel Consumption. An air filter may become clogged or loaded with contaminate quicker, depending on the nature of the area where the vehicle is driven, such as dusty conditions. A damaged filter can cause the engine to have excessive wear.
The most common way to determine if a new filter is needed is by a visual check and judgment call. If you have loads of cash, then change the oil filters every oil change..! -

It is an ideal car but not wise to own a SUV here, is a waste to throw away $$ dun need that big CC car on this island. Unless you have alot of spare cash to waste..! Since the Jazz was launched.. they came up with a few facelift. Our march launch in 2002, took them 3 years to come up with a new facelift with higher engine specs. Is different to compare the march with other smaller cars. -

No possible to have the white color in stock.. By still you can try asking TC if they have stocks for the next shipment for this old model ! No harm trying.
There is also a new model March launched in Oct 05.. it might be coming in, more fresh and sleek colors to chose from. www.nissan.co.jp. check it.
