Oh yes....finished the sound proofing job over the long holidays.
Did up the entire whole car. Roof, bonnet, engine firewall, tailgate, spare tire cavity, doors, etc. The whole works! Boy was it tiring, whole body is now sore!
The sound isolation is now perfect! Quiet bliss in the car at low cruising speed.
However at high speed(>80km/hr), the wind noise and tyre roar is getting more obstrusive.
My conclusion is that noise isolation can only be isolated partly by the soundproofing mats.
To have a totally 'quiet' car, the car structural design will have to strong to resist resonance in the design phase (obviously Nissan March as a budget small car, do not consider such matters while in the drawing board, unlike Lexus/BMW/Mercs)
Ok....now for the next phase.....the Performance Mod!!! -

yup, but cheat abit cos never go all the way to empty tank, went to just under 1/4 tank and based on distanced travelled for the fill up to full tank.Originally posted by Shooting_Cloud:Ya, are you sure? Unfortunately, now drop to 13.2 km/l after i discovered the usefulness of the OD button
but again, i travel 80-90% highway very early and very late where there is less traffic, and usually no passenger and little load, so fc sure better than town driving. -

Hello everyone,
I was traveling along Upper Thomson Road, in the direction of Sembawang Road to Canberra.
I think I may have kenna the TP's camera. It was near the Nee Soon Camp area when I saw the TP standing with his eqpt. By then, I realised that I was 75km/h... does anyone know if it's 60 or 70 for speed limit over there?
Or if anyone can point out to me how I can find out quickly if I kenna summons? I dun really want to wait and sweat it out till the letter comes... -

ur speed is 75km/h i think u r on the safe side!. dun worry! maybe the most they will send u a warning letter but not to summon u! unless u excess the speed limit by 20km/h then u have get ready to kena fine liao

If I just want a simple bodykit for my March Comfort (similar to Elegence model), is there any place in Singapore where I could get it done? How much do you think it will cost me?
I do not think I will go to Nissan to install the bodykit, since it cost nearly $2000 to get the bodykit install.

imma new march owner! yeah.
I just gotten my Lemon Yellow march for 2 weeks, and i'm like driving everyday. i think i crashed and scratched and bumped my car a couple of times already. but it's still not dented... yet. i'm still a 'P' plate you see.
missed my first service at 1000km and my mileage now is gonna hit 1400km!! got quite a earful from my sales person.
surprisingly, there's quite a number of marches and lemon yellow one especially on the roads nowadays! i bought this car thinking that march is rare and lemon yellow is rare too!!
seems like there's alot of people with the same taste as me. kewl.

My little car is 4 days' old! quite happy with it, apart from the tin-can sound when it rains heavily. Anyone know how that can be fixed, other than soundproofing?
Hope to learn from everyone here and contribute in some way too!

It's about 11-12 km/l for me currently. So if you clock 100km per day, i.e., live in East and work in Tuas... you probably spend 8l of petrol on travelling. (of course, if you go 80% on ECP-AYE, you'll probably get 13-14 km/l)
March full tank is 41l, the reserve tank indicator is 5-6l. I have observed that I typically pump 35-36l whenever I pump once the indicator comes on.
On the average, I pump full tank every 5 days. That's abt 50 bucks for each full tank, or 300 for the month.
I've been using Esso Syn 5000. Have not really experimented with other types. Esso+ Citibank also give me greater discounts. There's enough oomph in 5000, so I don't intend to incur higher costs of going 8000.

I'm currently experimenting with pumping 20l per time. Some senior members cite the lower weight as contributing to leaner fc. Have not compiled sufficient data to make useful comparison yet. -
Sound proofing is the only way. You'll get used to it. Many Nissan cars have the tin-can sound. Even the Cefiro.Originally posted by MarchOboy:*wave*

Bodykit is almost never metal. Usually plastic or fiberglass, which won't rust. So worries.
