AE86 Levin/Trueno still exist on Singapore road?

Anyway, i alwaz wondered how come some students can afford to have cars of their own. Dun count those whose parents buy for them lah, but just normal students. Workload of school probably means can't take on a high paying job mah, then how?
This poor student (now unemployed grad) is very interested to know leh

you need an average of $800 min per mth to own a car..... that exclude all the maintence , insurance and rd tax..... if you are thinking of getting a old car.... the best thing is to know how to repair it urself..... orelse... hahah gd luck..... -
It's just the love I have for the Trueno I guess.... ever since I saw it on Initial D... and again this time in reality in Singapore, I feel that it's the coolest car one can have in Singapore... if I don't push the car too hard, shouldn't be too hard to maintain... and at $45k, it's quite ok... I know this guy who's going to scrap his 93 civic, if I were to get it from it, I'd have to pay about $40k... if for just $5k more, I can get a Trueno, then y not?

hi. i couldnt afford the COE so i borrowed the COE from dad. The rest i paid using my own savings over the past 20 yrs. AE86, a legendary car ever created, be it looks or performance,
20 years back , fuel injection twin cams 16valve was a WOW thing,
Till now my passion for 86 is still strong, i did think of getting 1 and rebuilding it, but after calculation...... choose to put my cash into renovating my home,
viewed 2 AE86 Levin before i flew to HK, a red and a panda... both required major rebuild, wasted that the car is 5yr renewed.
My friend once mentioned,

I liked it even before I knew of Initial D.
The first AE86 I saw was a panda Trueno, no Fujiwara sticker. I didn't know anything about cars at that time (I was 7), but that hachiroku looked beautiful to me.
And I can safely say that Trueno was the car that got me involved in the world of cars and tuning.

Yes...it is a very different kind of feeling when u drive the 86, esp one that is trying to replicate the Initial D Trueno.
But the attention that u get can either turn u into an arrogant and snobbish pig or a humble and friendly driver. Initially when i started driving my car...i didnt know how to react to the attention i get as for the last 20 yrs of my life... i have been more of a "backstage" person in this world. Only after countless self reminders can i give others a smile when i catch them looking at my car.
Face it guys..how many of u have seen a Ferrari or a Lambo owner smile at u when u are "wahing" at his car? How about the fierce Evos and Rexes? -
Cos no one look at a Rex and Evo... too common liao.... and ferrari and labogini they will not smile to pple unless u r a cho bu lor....

I liked the car cos of it's overall look initially... then when I got to know more about the car, I realisd that it would actually be quite nice to drive.... I'd jump at the chance just to sit in one man.... But to own one... that would be quite an accomplishment in Singapore....
