Spore drivers has no manners...I mean the majority!

Just recently there was this case of someone dying in an ambulance on the way to the hospital and there was a big hooha about it cos' the civil defence force did not go to the nearest private hospital but the nearest public one which was quite some way off. According to the brother of the deceased who was on board the ambulance at the time, first the ambulance did not use the siren all the time. The driver was just content with sounding it at burst intervals and remaining with the rest of the traffic. Even at the traffic lights which were red but the roads were clear, the driver expressed uncertainty and was unwillingly to move due to.... fear of being caught by the TP and violating the traffic rules. HUH?!?! So my point is, even IF a lane did appear just for the ambulance to move, will the driver of the ambulance DARE to use it? This may be purely the subjective opinion of the brother but it does give us something to ponder about.

It is true that spore drivers are lacking the essense of a diligent driver. Perhaps, it is due to our culture that hinder us to react accordingly to situation, per se. Sporean is well known for "KS" syndrome. Time to ponder over it...before it is too late.

i guess everyone needs to do their part, not only one side. the drivers on the road need to know when and how to give way ..... the ambulance drivers need to know when and how to use it ..... and TP's need to give grace to them -

Yup, majority spore drivers have ill-manners on road. Probably, they think they have paid high price on the road as well as the 10 years life-span motor-cars.

I drove in NZ and I can tell you tat it is so much less stressful driving there than here.
The drivers gave way when they approach single lane bridges and numerous circles (you hardly find them here). And they really follow road signs!
After I gave way to the locals, they horn or wave to say 10q. Try finding that here?!

my father booked a campervan and we too also considerate
letting faster cars pass us.
The campervan was actually a Mit. Canter(the lorry u see here) with its rear cut off(of corse) to have the bed,kitchen etc and lucky, the campervan dont have a goddamned speed limiter or other similar device.Went on 100km/h(the speed allowed) and sometime 130km/h .The engine already whining. -

whenever we notice a faster car coming from behind, we let it pass even though it is not a passing lane, just move to the left slightly but safely.
i also noticed no one horn at the slower vehicles (such as campervan) when we are on those long and curving roads.

That is the different between highly cultured locals and our not too far away friends, NZ and Aust.
It is true they dun horn for distressing you. They will horn only: But only when they signal others to move onto the highway as they deliberately slow down their vehicles. Wow...

Those people drive as though they own the road, literally. I have gotten used to the way of driving on local roads. Just steer clear of those people who drive recklessly and keep to ur lane. Those people are just anxious to meet their maker. Why stop them??

think this is very much on the cultures of the various countries....
like in our neigbhourly north... try driving at 120km/h on the right lane.... asking for trouble!!!
like in Aust/NZ, alamak....i think the pple are not in the hurry lah...some of them like "ah-mah" and "ah-gong" driving like a totoise on the road....walao...like 50km/h on the road...pple also dun horn at them!!! -
Get an insurance.....before you ram ur car....

3rd and 4th lanes are meant for slow moving vehicles going at 70kph or slower... 80kph is perfectly alrite cos it isn't slow and the 3rd lane would have too many trucks and lorries going slower... if u think u wanna push yourself to the limit (90kph) or even more, u can just overtake that car

80 in 2nd lane... then 90 in 1st lane? Overtake where then? Just general rule of thumb, if you can go one lane left safely, then bloody well do so... there are other road users too.
Another thing that bugs me about Singapore drivers... Say you're driving 2 car lengths behind someone in the overtaking lane with no traffic behind you. Someone in the left lane wants to pull into your lane... Common freaking basic road manners to pull behind you right? NO BLOODY WAY!!! These moron drivers will squeeze in dangerously in front of you!!
But of course #1 irritant are road hoggers. -
It is pretty much down to the pace of life and high density population (pple and cars) here in sg. Everybody is rushing, most for the sake of rushing, because he/she is doing that in work everyday. It's no wonder the heart attack rate among s'poreans is high.
And it doesn't help when most of the roads are densely filled with vehicles all the time, unless you are driving along mandai ave, lim chu kang, loyang, etc. Esp. during peak hrs, sometimes filtering is not easy, and it makes you look like a road hogger, even if you are already travelling at 100 kph. Somehow the guy behind you still thinks that you are driving a tortoise!?
