we dont know about the state of our economy better than the PM/finance minister do. we see things only on the surface. they have the balance sheet. the cabinet must have their reasons for opening one. one thing we do know is they did not open it to feed they gambling urge.
singapore depended on electronics but it is evident that factories are relocatiing to china and other cheaper locations. unemployment rate has never been as high. we are slowly losing our competitiveness. tourism income has dropped too.
there are 2 sides to a coin. for those who do not gamble keep it that way. but for those hardcore ones it is a just a matter of where they die. here or overseas. i feel that the govt has no choice. how many families will be negatively affected nobody knows. we shall wait and see. but the 2 projects will generate a lot of income and jobs. that's for sure.

Oh ya let me guess. you're a sour citizen who is struggling with life in Singapore because you are lazy and not so successful and expect the govt to help you with yr laziness. Funny thing, I rarely see the successful and rich people complaining about life in Singapore. Instead of putting blame on others, why not take charge about your life...[ -
Next time we will have Poly and Uni - Diploma/Degree in Casino Management, Diploma/Degree in Casino Engineering, ITE will have ITC in Casino Operation, ITC in Casino Engineering.

That's the way. Before the casino has being built already so many negative thoughts. Come on, give them a chance to prove... more than 40 years ago, many people didn;t think Singapore can make it...
