We never said it was justified to steal. We're just saying you are so blinded in the action that you never looked at yourself in the mirror to see whether you were the one tempting the thief with the ease of stealing your stuff.

If theft was really that rampant, nobody would bring anything out already...You don't see people coming here every few days to post "Somebody stole my handphone", do you?
The thing is, while the HP was inside ur own bag, there wasn't sufficient measures taken to safeguard it from theft..

i lost my nokia 6610 while i was playing bball .. i put it in a pouch n stash it on the bball stand where i have most of the view .. so i was playing alone with 1 more fren .. the court was empty .. then came a mid aged man with a toddler .. the funny thing is of all places he could go .. he chose to come rite under the bball stand where me n my fren put out belongings .. ok .. point noticed n we took effort to watch him everynow n then as we played .. but he was playing with his toddler n soon our attention died as we tot he could nt do anything .. then 30mins later i discovered my hp was stolen .. wat a wuss .. use a kid to divert attention .. my fren nv get stolen cos he was using a rather confusing pouch .. while mine was jus a simple pouch tat u can unzip n take .. suay man ..

In Singapore, you cannot leave things lying around unattended, thieves(these can be anybody, including strangers and coworkers) are everywhere. We've lost a few handphones and laptops here at work. Watches too. All were left lying on desks or tables. One friend lost her handphone when she accidentally left it on a hawker centre table. Best part is that she remembered on the way to the carpark(less than 5 min walk from hawker centre), when we went back the phone gone liao. In under 10 minutes! I used my phone to call her number, her phone did receive the call but was cut off by the thief. It probably ended up in a second hand phone shop.

It is wrong to steal no matter what. Sometimes we did try our best to protect our things, but these people can still steal lor...especially in crowded place...
