good crisis response? what if the people in charge are in a crisis themselves?Originally posted by SMAPLionHeart:The key crux of the matter is , be it crisis , or even heart attacks or drownings ....do happen . What really matters then , is not pushing the blame about , is about how SAF can really learn from what happens and take considerable effort , to ensure a good crisis response so that the similar event does not happen again.
I do not wish to see any more deaths in the SAF in the future .
The only sad thing about death is, sigh , it could have been prevented.
Point being that, you , blasting off singapore this, singapore that and highlighting all the negative image of singapore , with all the bollywood stuffs.Originally posted by Harris_JeyaRaj:and we pay taxes to breed this sh^t?.....Let them pint fingers at each other noses or even A@@ses.i dont care...but i feel sorry for the NSF who died....Watever it is , he wont be alive again...
You have to keep in mind that, some of those NSF do abuse these privileges being given to them , thereby giving problems to those in charge , be it doctor..MO or whatever..difficulties in differentiating between the true or the fake cases.Originally posted by Harris_JeyaRaj:good crisis response? what if the people in charge are in a crisis themselves?
All i saw before were NSF report sick....Always the words charge is used....in the end instead of going to DB, the poor NSF goes straight to heaven,,,how logical
You should always error on the side of safety. For every 10 guys who keng there is one who is seriously ill. I would rather make sure that one get is taken care of or cured and let the 10 others have their MC than catch the 10 guys and have one die.Originally posted by SMAPLionHeart:You have to keep in mind that, some of those NSF do abuse these privileges being given to them , thereby giving problems to those in charge , be it doctor..MO or whatever..difficulties in differentiating between the true or the fake cases.
It's only a pity.
I think I'm not allowed to mention the actual amount.....lets just say that for deaths its somewhat less than 1/5th of a million dollars, for permanent paralysis not sure.Originally posted by iveco:If the poor bugger become cripple what is Mindef going to say? oooh - must be about 150 000. Too bloody little!Originally posted by av98m:I think I'm not allowed to mention the actual amount.....lets just say that for deaths its somewhat less than 1/5th of a million dollars, for permanent paralysis not sure.![]()
You don't want to die so early, right? Then, take care of yourself during army time and whatever you do, don't fall sick!Originally posted by martin_lim85:i dun want to die soon early![]()

I totally agree with you.The Hippocratic Oath they swore should always take precedent over any rank or organisation they serve.Originally posted by 443BXdrv:You should always error on the side of safety. Any Medicial doctors/ MO who spend the time inteorrgating their patient, instead of trying to find out what's actually wrong with him has forgotten the oaf that they had taken when they became doctors. It's not their jobs to catch a faker. In this case, leave that up to the military personnel. I'm sure they won't like it if the CO was there giving the diagnosis in his place.
A pity the dead person is worth less then a BMW , orOriginally posted by lwflee:oooh - must be about 150 000. Too bloody little!
In other countries, when trouble happens , people resign, Korean Defense minister offered to resign over the killing of 8 soldiers..Originally posted by BillyBong:Whatever happens, the guy is dead. The gf can't get over it as yet and the family is seeking closure.
Even if the doctor is sanctioned and suspended indefinitely, a person's life was lost, all because NUH medical practices and doctrines were not sufficient or were not carried out with due dilligence.
It seems NUH has never learnt from it's lessons. Their hospital has pretty much the worst record of patients who have died through negligence or mishaps (not including TTS which was the primary cell for SARS).
I hope the administration is taken to task as in LTA for the circle line collapse.
You can tell who are the better GPs, either they are foreign, or they are above 60 or as you have observed, those who were not MOs during NS, but instead went to study medicine after they have ORD.I have a friend who's intending to do so in the States.Originally posted by khk:came a bit late here...
after reading the whole thread, there r a few things tt i wan to say:
1st, aviva insurance onli applies for saf personnel who haf subscribed to the grp insurance, n the amt of cover depends on the individual...it is a term insurance which is NOT compulsory...
2nd, all male doctors who goes thru medical sch in s'pore(i.e nus) will haf served as MOs as part of their nsf liability after their deferment n studies...(correct mi if i am wrong)...personally met a few doctors (GPs) who changed their attitude when they noe tt i am a nsf...they ask things like why i dun go to my MO but instead go to a polyclinic etc...the onli doctors who treated mi like a normal patient r priv GPs who earned their degrees abroad...

Commander's intent is not communicated clearly and forcefully to the lower ranks of junior officers.Originally posted by stellazio:believe me,the government ministers etc have changed the treatment and training in ns by alot as compared to before.what still makes it so torturing is that those bloody sergeants and officers inside who were treated like shit before during their training time has this sick mentality of what i get you shall get it too and thats why ns training will always be the same old shit.becuz people can't change and believe they whatever they received before, they will pass it on to you.
