Dr Vivian responded that since majority of jc and poly are of the same age...there shouldn't be a barriar between us...however...i do not agree to this...cos as you can really see...there is a sense of animosity between jc and poly students of the forum..

just to tell you all something. i read some statistics from some government reports in the SP business school library and it states that the school fees before subsidies is 9k plus while the students have to pay less than 100 if i'm not wrong. while for us poly students, the total education cost is 12k plus while we have to pay 2k. so in terms of the percentage being subsidised, which is more???

you know it kinda sucks as a poly student that during the holidays i have to take the public transport to wherever and still pay adult fare...for jc students...you can be having your holiday and still travel around each day like nobody's business...
even as a poly student...i work part time...each day i have to spend about nearly 3 bucks just for transport alone...so in the end...how much do i really earn? -

Poly students pay $2100 per academic year. According to the financial statements by SP, the revenue collected by students is only 30million. However, that is not enough to cover the cost of operating the polytechnic. It still has an outstanding deficit of 184 million. -
Its the way the system group fares... Poly and Unis are classified under tertiary education so they are subjected to "tertiary" fees.. while JC is "pre-tertiary"...
