Few years back I saw something more interesting at Pizza Hut. Cashier is PRC, customer is Malay.
PRC don't know a word of English, naturally Malay customer don't know Chinese. The PRC kept asking this and that... all the poor Malay customer can to was to point on the picture of the meal he wanted and NO special requirement was meant. For example, change the coke to ice tea (which i think thats what he wanted) End up, he settle for coke.
sometimes I wonder do these fast food joints have a minimum requirement for their cashiers. One base requirement should be understanding simple English. -
i went to SHATEC for dining etiquette. i was learning how to eat properly(prepare go posh restaurant nia). a PRC women learning how to serve.
she spilled water all over me. she said sorry a few times and went behind the counter and cried..
for this one case, i pitied the PRCs, leaving home to a faraway place to work... -

Once i worked during my holidays, I received a call from some Bank of China or something
The lady spoke English with a heavy PRC accent
It was so bad, i switched to Mandarin to ask her what she wants

when i was in OBS, i did sailing... the command "prepare to tag" means to stay put but turn the sailboat 180 degrees. so, it's an about turn ah... then the instructor told us to give the command and they shouted... "PREPARE TO ATTACK!!!"

okay guys. if u all need to know, my race in my IC is arab. my father is arab-malay and my mom is chinese-acehnese. i do not look malay at all. but my race is arab. had to follow my dad.

It was rejected on the grounds Mendaki caters for Malays, not people of Arab descent
Naturally, he was peeved
The irony was that he received a letter few days requesting him to donate to Mendaki
Damn ironic -
