$6.8 million for a whole year's operation expenses is certainly not a lot.
Lotsa charities in SG, you can't help every single one. Support the ones with causes you believe in, not necessarily the ones who get more exposure. -

Miss J issue was blown up of proportion by the evening newspaper.
Put yourself in her shoes.
If your boss request you to master a difficult task with such a short time and you cannot reject due to future career backlash, you will definitely feel fustrated.
The situation is worsen through suffering from a injury that needs time to heal.
The injury will also affect her coming filming schedules.
The acting job may be given to another actress due to the injury.
Therefore, any one will be angry at the moment of injury.
I believe she is not against doing charity, just a bit pissed off due to the injury.
Some other artists are also injured through this charity show.
I guess she have to accept the stunts as part of the media artist job requirements. -

generally most charities have a lot of reserves, not just nkf - enough to last a few years. it is publicly known. why do they need so much more funds? why do they keep acting like they have now reached their last dollar? they are always saying that the patients will suffer if we stop donating. but are they suffering now? they arent!!! why? because there are lots of reserves!! patient will only suffer if the charities have used up their reserves, down to the very last dollar. and on top of it singaporeans stop donating. tell me. when did singaporeans ever stop donating?
i am compassionate too. i used to donate to community chest and our beloved nkf. but i wont do it again until they do something about the reserves issue, again, not just nkf.
ask yourself. how much savings does the average singaporean have? if you lose your livelihood can it see you through for a few years? why do they need reserves that last a few years?
i have my say and everybody will and can have theirs. it is up to each individual to decide for themselves what is best for them.
use your heart and head. donate freely if you think it is the right thing to do. i am not trying to sway anybody.
