Some shooting certifcations are awarded by them.

From this I can deduce the murder weapon was a semi-automatic pistol. Could be a Glock. A Glock is easily smuggled in due to its non-metallic, synthetic build.
It's made from high density polymer, for most of the body, but trigger, barrel and hammer are still metal.
Being hi-density polymer, their shape still show up in X-rays.
i put thru a SAR-21 thru x-ray before, the shape of the handguard still show up. -
I doubt this guy will be caught. Let's see. Looks like a premeditated crime to me. Who carries a gun around in Singapore in the early hours? Too much of a risk of running into roadblocks.
So Likely, he planned the thing. Let's see. He entered the house at 0655, police responded to a call of gunshots at 0710. 15 mins gone. Man pronounced dead at scene of crime at 0750. I dunno what the really means in terms of police response time. I suspect that by the time the cops got to grips with the situation, at least another 30mins has gone by.
If he has his own transport, then likely he would have been able to reach the causeway and leave the country already. Gun should have been ditched already so no dramas at the checkpoint.
Result = Nobody gets caught and we forget about this incident. -
Hmm..I still believe it's a smuggling syndicate, for there to be two similar cases within such a short period of time..
Honestly, I foresee similar firearms cases in the months or years to come. Hope everyone stays vigilant and be careful. -

Or he might just surrender sometime soon?
He fleeing to Causeway is a probability. because i have a feeling that police now have a fair idea who this person is. if records show he left singpore, then up to the police "up north" to decide what to do. -
the culprit would probably have S$50 in some stacks to bribe any northern police officers away from him.

Like the Glock, most parts are made of high density synthetic polymer, except for some metal barrel and trigger guard parts. This could make it relatively easier to smuggle through Customs metal detectors.
This morning's murder might have been committed by a similar pistol. -

since lorong chuan is so near serangoon ave 4...i wonder....

How people usually smuggle guns is to dissemble the pistol and ship it seperately. In this manner, the pistol are nothing more like plastic/metal blocks.
However, the diffcult part is smuggling the lower assembly as the hand guard, trigger guard cannot be mistaken for somethign else. This part, they usually risk it.
My friend ever mail ordered a BB (MP5) gun and specifically tell the seller to ship it in parts. Those that actually arrived his mail box are, the magazine, the stock and some springs. The rest did not make it to his house.
This is considering BB gun is made of lighter plastics but yet can't go thru customs. -
