Not true. The glock being non-metallic is a well-known myth.Originally posted by Deunamist:Impossible to be from Police. Police revolver only 5 rounds, and if it was from Police once they uncover the bullets they should have matched the calibre to their own.
From this I can deduce the murder weapon was a semi-automatic pistol. Could be a Glock. A Glock is easily smuggled in due to its non-metallic, synthetic build.
That's one scenario.Originally posted by lwflee:I doubt this guy will be caught. Let's see. Looks like a premeditated crime to me. Who carries a gun around in Singapore in the early hours? Too much of a risk of running into roadblocks.
So Likely, he planned the thing. Let's see. He entered the house at 0655, police responded to a call of gunshots at 0710. 15 mins gone. Man pronounced dead at scene of crime at 0750. I dunno what the really means in terms of police response time. I suspect that by the time the cops got to grips with the situation, at least another 30mins has gone by.
If he has his own transport, then likely he would have been able to reach the causeway and leave the country already. Gun should have been ditched already so no dramas at the checkpoint.
Result = Nobody gets caught and we forget about this incident.

A 41-year-old Chinese man was found dead with gunshot wounds at his flat this morning.
On 15 Feb 2006 at about 7.10 am , Police responded to a call that someone had been shot at Blk 223 Serangoon Ave 4. A 41-year-old businessman who resided in the flat, was found bleeding and lying face down on the floor in the study room. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 7.50am
Earlier at about 6.55 am , a man had entered the flat armed with a gun. The victim's wife, teenaged daughter and maid were tied up and the house was ransacked. A few shots were heard and the victim was fatally wounded. The victimÂ’s wife, daughter and maid were unhurt. The man then ran out of the door towards an unknown direction.
Police are currently on the look out for the suspect. [b]He is believed to be Chinese in his late 30s to 40s, and is described as plump built, about 1.7 m tall. He is wearing a black round-neck T-shirt with some wordings, black pants and black shoes. He was also sporting a black cap and appeared to be blind in his right eye. He fled the house carrying a blue-coloured denim handbag which is believed to contain cash and jewellery taken from the house.
Members of the public who spot anyone fitting the description of the suspect are advised to call the Police immediately. They should not approach the suspect as he may be dangerous.

Alamak, deunamist... this thing about Glocks being easier to smuggle thru customs is a myth as i said in my earlier post!!Originally posted by Deunamist:Of course never rape lah...His own semen can do him in you know.
I believe the pistol used in last week's robbery is one of the Sigma model pistols, either 9, 40 or 380.
This is an example of a S&W Sigma 9E

Like the Glock, most parts are made of high density synthetic polymer, except for some metal barrel and trigger guard parts. This could make it relatively easier to smuggle through Customs metal detectors.
This morning's murder might have been committed by a similar pistol.

O.O so he has some MP5 parts at home. O.OOriginally posted by Ponders:My friend ever mail ordered a BB (MP5) gun and specifically tell the seller to ship it in parts. Those that actually arrived his mail box are, the magazine, the stock and some springs. The rest did not make it to his house.
This is considering BB gun is made of lighter plastics but yet can't go thru customs.
yup. but it's BB MP5 ah. Not the real one.Originally posted by Deunamist:O.O so he has some MP5 parts at home. O.O

if it were a pistol, shells would have been found.. very easy to match the shells to a database..Originally posted by Deunamist:Impossible to be from Police. Police revolver only 5 rounds, and if it was from Police once they uncover the bullets they should have matched the calibre to their own.

The Glock is a striker-fired pistol. It does not have a hammer.Originally posted by Ponders:Not true. The glock being non-metallic is a well-known myth.
It's made from high density polymer, for most of the body, but trigger, barrel and hammer are still metal.
