i chaged monthly,solution also chage everyday,but i nv wash my contact lens,i just place them in the casing and put solution,as the solution bottle wrote "NO RUB"

btw how true is the 'get close to bbq, lens melt, eyes blind' thingy? i think this is a nightmare for all contact users right?

today's newspaper :
-bausch and lomb had a quarter page ad saying their chief medical officer coming in frm the USA. assures users that the solution is still safe to use.
-johnson and johnson's has a full page ad for its acuvue dailies. -

I am RENU user for years and I have no had any problem so far. Just make sure you practice good personal hygiene and dun get lazy.
Cannot blame RENU if that is the case. Imagine if it's another better brand with more powerful solution and 7 out of 10 lazy wear use it, you will have the same case repeating itself.
We were given two eyes, none is reserve as a spare.

i use acuvue 2..it's fortnightly de.. changing the solution daily even if contacts are not worn for that day is something new to me. anyways, i use solo cleaning solution too. i nv rub my lenses also! haiz. everytime after i read something about contact lenses, i will practise very good lenses habits. but after awhile, i go back to my bad habits again.
haiz. really very mafan. i think i will buy the dailies next time. my lecturer (optometry course) also recommend dailies. she said the price is okay la. coz you save on the solution... and do you know one large bottle of solution at most can only use one month after opening? not very economical if you are the only lens wearer in ur family huh. almost impossible to use finish in one month la. the bottle so big.
so yes. i will buy dailies next time.
anyways, i heard from my fren that after lasik, you can't wear contacts anymore? i mean, i know after lasik is perfect eyesight...but i think mine cannot be perfect ar. my power too high. haha. -
LASIK does not guarantee perfect eyesight!!! There is no 100% guarantee so please realise that it is not a perfect solution.
Some solution can be used up to 90days from date of opening. -

considering lasik too but afraid that my eyesight will deteriorate again, esp due to prolonged staring at the com/tv screen
furthermore my degree is too high, not safe and not effective. -

thot B & L solution r good...heng i use 2 small bottles only. previously usin Complete and cant find so use tt for a while.
going to buy back the complete brand again -

The Health Ministry has advised contact lens users to stop using the Bausch and Lomb's ReNu multi-purpose contact lens solution for the time being, as a precautionary measure.
This is until the causes of the recent increase in fungal eye infections among contact lens users can be more clearly ascertained.
Investigations it conducted together with the Health Sciences Authority and the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC) reveal 18 of the 19 patients reported by the SNEC had used the product.
The findings also showed all 18 patients used disposable contact lenses. These lenses ranged from daily disposable lens to monthly disposable lens and came from a variety of manufacturers.
While findings so far indicate association rather than cause, the Ministry said that in view of the potentially serious visual consequences of fungal corneal infection, it would be prudent for contact lens users to discontinue using the solution for the time being.
It said further investigations are underway to establish the cause of the infection.
The Ministry also advised contact lens users to practise proper contact lens care.
It said the findings show 13 of the patients had used expired lenses while 11 wore contact lenses while taking naps. - CNA/ir -

wah lao. I read the article then I ran to take out my lenses. I using the b&l renu solution. I bought 1 big bottle one day before the first article came out lah cibai
Now need to spend money to buy another brand -
