I am tempted to retort but I guess with 4 pages of posts before I saw this thread...U should have no lack of people giving U a piece of their mind.Originally posted by Simon Dean:They did not work hard yet we still have to help them what the hell is the meaning of this man.
if you think it is unfair why dont you and your family all resign from your work and make yourself poor?Originally posted by Simon Dean:i am not looking after my interest, is like what the hell. Why do you deserve to get some things why you dont work hard yourself.
The estate duty is to ensure people dont get rich simply by inheriting wealth. The government wants everybody to work hard.Originally posted by Kenashi:If u r not happy, u can always shoot yrself dead since no country in this world don't collect tax but then u need to pay one last time estate duty![]()

its often the mid to higher income ppl dat are slack.. imo. for lower income ppl or ppl facing financial difficulties, we have to work harder and plan further than anyone else. not everyone likes to receive aid, and not everyone is what you say. don't be ignorant.

Singapore run only by PhDs would be my vision of a purgatory. Equally, a government run by roadsweepers can be no less a terrifying place to live in.
omg, you are starting to sound like Salman.Originally posted by Simon Dean:bunch of whiners, lower-income people working harder and rich people slacking. What makes you think so?, you think answering conference calls and dealing businesses to 4am and flying in and out of the country is not tiring either? You guys make it sound like you can rightaway rise to a high status without any hard work and some people are fated to be poor.Thats rubbish, Singapore is a meritocratic country, if you are willing to study hard from the start you can be ensure that you can reap your rewards later. If not, dont comaplain that you are poor later in life because you did not put in enough work.Dont make excuses for yourself, it is you who decides your future not anyone else.
like i say too bad, reap what you sow.
the problem is that some chose to break out of the circle while others used it as an excuse and blame the Singapore government.Originally posted by sbst275:Obviously you did not face what the lower income faces
like i said earlier dun let a black sheep in a bunch fool you. look at the majority and quit whining. go play your dota.Originally posted by Simon Dean:you jump to conclusions too fast, always assuming the worst case scenario like
1)Jobless
2)Illness

No what, you are the one blaming the government and whining about them since you say the government is using taxpayers money on the lower income people.Originally posted by Simon Dean:The problem is people whine and make excuses for themselves and blame others for their failure. The Singapore government is fair, blame yourself and not others..
