Well, I hate to say this but your family I think kinda favors guys over girls. They most likely think that it's ok for guys to be like that since they will have a wife to look after him. (I wonder which girl will take that crap)
And your brother is smart. He knows that if he doesn't do it, someone will pick up after him anyway....although that will lead him to his failure in life if he doesn't wake up.
He doesn't think that studying is a big deal because right now, everyone picks up his shit for him. He has so many buffers to fall back on and he expects it to be the same in the future. -

aaargh my elder bro is now 27 yr old and had not held any stable job for long even though he got a decent engineering degree from nus.... everyday just stay at home play football manager familand go play magic the gathering..... next time my family going to hong gan liao.......

i tink in a family living together most important thing is everyone do his/ her part. if u are earning winning the bread or overseeing the household expenses at least manage the money well.....those not doing so but living within the same house should at least appreciate the free ride or lunch by doing some chores or helping to save a little and make everyone's life as easy as possible. but some parents and siblings real f uck up 1 i tell u.
take my mother for example....u know what she told me ever since i started work she say she want half of my salary if i have did what she said i tell u today we will still be in debts man! and she alwasy gossip here and there last time very good wif this relative say other bad now turn the tables say bad one good always tok over the phone kaya them and avoid the other "use to be good" relatives. always say here pain there pain forget to turn off the tap no wonder my utility bills so high after she cameback to stay but buy 4-d u see she can even remember when and where and what number.
