Clearly, this pathetic news article shows that some JC students, even till now, are still unsensitive to others in the society.
And it also shows that SG's education system is increasingly elitist......
The thing that saddens me most is that these people were smart only to conduct flamings based on their own qualifications.......
.........and thence disintegrating our society gradually.......so in all what a waste of our SG education system......since it produces pple who only know how to flame and be unfriendly to other pples (esp those of lower qualifications....) -
In terms of experience,poly students definely have more than JC students.
Who do u think an employer will hired,a person with an A level cert or a poly dilp.
True enough,it is easier for jc students to enter local uni than poly graduates,but even an entry to local uni not necessary means a good stable job upon graduation,this goes to all students ITE,poly or Uni.
I do have alot of jc friends studying with me in Uni now,the truth is they tend to have harder time to adapt in studies than us poly grads as the subjects we study in Uni have being taught before in poly mostly and the attachment to companies made us gain some working experience.
From the way our dear whoops mention on poly students and the way he or she type, already shows the level of maturity you have.If you are saying poly students are stupid,then why did the employers want to hired poly students?Are they stupid too?How about the Government?If Poly students are stupid,shouldn't they do something to reduce the rate of poly students why was republic poly open as well?How abt those local uni lecturers who graduate from poly before,are they stupid too?

Y poly students, stupid and chidish, obivously, he haven't learn well in GP cos he is stereotyping. What makes u think that jc students are mature... I see 'kids' wearing JC uniform every day. I am not saying that poly students are stupid (some can be really street smart), jc studnets generally have an better innate ability.
And what more is many students who can qualify for JC are going to poly. DId poly teach ppl to be stupid? Anyway, i guess he is probably in some top sch to be unaware of this fact ... so what does it show ??? -

Your argument about employer hiring poly student is flawed. Employers hire poly students not because they have more experience, it is because of the diploma! If you think a degree does not mean a good stable job, then pls enlighten me why so many poly grads are trying to enter uni now?

Depends on what you're studying. I think poly students will have difficulty in Maths, for example, compared with jc students. And with so many cross faculty modules to take, the advantage they hold is reduced.
And don't talk about working experience in school. If what you study in school are not used in the working world, what makes you think the opposite is true? -

I think that Poly or Jc is just a choice that everyone makes.
Unfair to say that 'kids' in JC uniform. After all same age different choice.
Can't say JC pple are just memorising muggers, if you are gonna say that, then those memorising muggers have every right to call you lazy and not smart BTC.
I just think that many JC pple are unhappy over the Uni allocation since suddenly out of the blue there is so much competition from Poly. Porbably is the silly Govt policy cok up.
