Since they are in communication with God, then God can give them a different revelation from Islam?Originally posted by aku1b0d0:in Islam, it's not ok since the steps on how to pray, what to do, etc etc is different from Islam.

actually i'd prefer that.Originally posted by casino_king:I know of one consultant surgeon who says that he is not religious but a moralist. That is to say he believes in morals; right and wrong.
Well believers are in the minority. About 2 billion out of 6 billion on earth. Comments?
"to expect something in return for their good faith and works." Yes, that is tragic.Originally posted by Ito_^:actually i'd prefer that.at least they are not likely to expect something in return for their good faith and works.
but morals can be different between one person and another, not like religions where a standard moral code (despite of being twisted, edited and extremified) is there.
i suppose a moralist seems something like a variation of an atheist to me.. and confucianism.
Yes, true. The question is whether or not God belongs to Islam or Muslim?Originally posted by OneDoubleManTayar:"Allah" is the perfect word to describe the "One God" of monotheism.
"Allah" is the same word used by Christian and Jewish Arabs in the Bible, before Islam came.
On page one [1] of Genesis in the Old Testament, we find the word "Allah" seventeen [17] times.
It is not a matter of `borrowing' from Judaism, because all the prophets that came before Muhammad (pbuh), eg Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus (peace be upon them all) brought with them the very same mesasge, `worship Allah alone without any partners'.
The answer is, God doesn't belong to Islam, but Islam belongs to Allah.Originally posted by casino_king:Yes, true. The question is whether or not God belongs to Islam or Muslim?
There is only one God and I cry out to God; I am not Muslim; God hears me or not? God respond to me or not? What do you think?

You have to wait and see. He might answer to your call, maybe not.
You say Islam belongs to God... does Christianity belongs to God? Judaism? Buddhism? Hinduism?Originally posted by aku1b0d0:The answer is, God doesn't belong to Islam, but Islam belongs to Allah.

The God that I'm referring to is Allah. Since Judaism, Buddhism and Hinduism don't believe in Allah, that means they do not belong to God. from a muslim's point of view, that is.Originally posted by casino_king:You say Islam belongs to God... does Christianity belongs to God? You said that the Holy Quran says that there is only one God.... so from a Muslim's point of view, there must be only one God?Originally posted by aku1b0d0:The God that I'm referring to is Allah. Buddhism - there is no God (still they take ownership of the word God, see?)Don't understand. If there Buddhists don't believe in God, how can we take ownership of the word God?
AEN do you know if you are the minority among all those who call themselves Buddhists? or to put it in another way, how many call themselves Buddhists and out of all those that calls themselves Buddhists, how many "pray" simply to focus their minds and do not pray to a supernatural being asking for supernatural intervention in their lives and how many actually believe in God, in defiance or ignorance of what Buddha said? or maybe they do not interpret Buddhist sutras as saying that there is no God?Originally posted by An Eternal Now:Don't understand. God is not an issue in Buddhism - for Buddha said, this does not at all affect our Buddhist practise nor is it of concerns for liberating human sufferings in our lives.
Buddhists (under Buddha's definition) do not pray to focus their minds. Like I mentioned - praying is never one of the 84000 dharma doors.Originally posted by casino_king:AEN do you know if you are the minority among all those who call themselves Buddhists? or to put it in another way, how many call themselves Buddhists and out of all those that calls themselves Buddhists, how many "pray" simply to focus their minds and do not pray to a supernatural being asking for supernatural intervention in their lives and how many actually believe in God, in defiance or ignorance of what Buddha said? or maybe they do not interpret Buddhist sutras as saying that there is no God?
