But the truth is...our values have completely eroded. Littering is as widespread a problem as silence in a library, or basic respect to school teachers and responsibility as a young adult etc... -
lol, i throw my worn socks around at home, also some of the food packages and grocery plastic bags.
But outside i don't anyhow litter coz i don't wan others to do the same to me so i don't do it.
But i gotta reveal a small fetish..i like to go supermarket and then put my drink cans or bottles into one of the rack of the same drinks. it's fun lol
so far haven't kana caught yet or mebbe they just open 1 eye close 1eye -
i try 2 throw in e bin... but sum time cannot find den bo bian...

due to not enough rubbish bins -
there are no dustbins in the mrt stations. are they encouraging littering?

go to japan and u'll see why they are so litter free, we should follow their lead, what's the problem with keeping litter in our pockets till we can find a bin?
If we all can join marathons and such, i dun see why ppl can't walk a few short metres to the bin?
it all boils down to educating a child since young

from what i know every house has to pay for a service be it utilities like water or electricity, even rubbish cleaning has to come at a price, cos u are paying the cleaners salaries, even if u have to pay a separate company -

Littering happens mostly in HDB.
Even after upgrading, the residents don't take pride in their flats.
They still urine in the lifts & discard bulky items blocking the corridors.
Don't understand why when it is so convenient to throw down rubbish chute while for pte. prop. u have to pack nicely & throw outside your hse. -

Just like to post this up so we dont put down our own countrymen unnecessarily and excessively.
For the urinators in lifts, I tend to want to give the benefit of the doubt because I had an elderly grandfather who had problems controlling his bladder. So normally when I see this happen in lifts, I would think its just the case of someone taking an old folk for a walk but mishap happened.
As for littering and spitting its just inexcusable bad habit and behavior, a case of bad 'jia jiao'.

There should also be a survey on why we put ourselves down first and not first suspect the foreign element. I for one would trust my fellow countryman more than anyone else, who else can I turn to if Sg was to go to war? -
