I think the restaurant has the right to ask any customer who doesn't follow their rules to leave.

I thinkwe always take for granted that the restaurants will not really enforce those rules cause they want to do our business, thus they will open and close one eye.
So all of us takes the rules for granted and disregard them. It is just time that enforce the rules that they set. Unreasonable? NO... cause they have made it clear from the start, and you should play by the rules. If you wanna break the rules, you would have anticipate what possible consequences to face.
Thus, verdict.. restaurant wins.. hands down -
Just because of the bottles, things get blown out of proportion. From the article, the woman is largely responsible for the matter.
- she should know the basic rule that outside food/drink are not allowed. Even if you insist to bring, don't let the waiters/waitresses see.
- she complained loudly even when the chef told her to calm down. In such a posh restaurant, this is an ugly behaviour.
- when the chef forced her out of the restaurant, she made a police report. This won't solve her problems, considering she was the one who made a commotion in the restaurant. She lets this small matter to turn into a big deal.
- lastly, her occupation is a teacher. Even if you're outside sch, you should still behave with your manners. The incident may send students the wrong message. -
Her kind of behaviour is seen in many places, and also in cases of maid abuses. Now, I'm trying real hard not to generalise, but such similarities in their attitudes are hard to shake.
These people think the world owes them. -
Not surprised at the standards of some of our teachers, if I'm not wrong, a teacher was also involved in the Everitt Road's neighbour dispute. dont like to follow rules, like to argue even when they are in the wrong and know it, like to kick a big fuss and threaten not to patronise.

my colleague once told me he witnessed a woman shouting at the cleaner in carrefour when the cleaner told her to avoid that wet area he just cleaned, then the woman shouted that why cannot walk past there, it is his duty to clean it again. wah lau eh, wad a snob sia.
as i am in the service line, i meet up with lots of diff ple and that has confirmed my 'market survey'
