  i know of parents who have threatened to disown the child, or threatened to commit suicide

  belts, the buckle area ..
  canes .... rem those colorful ones ? 30cents per cane, i always steal them and throw them out the window. and some others weird weapons but luckily no knives
  
  i've this sick female English teacher in pri sch who like to use wooden ruler and hit people, she dont hit your palm, she ask you to close your hand and she use the ruler and hit vertically (ruler) on your bones (dont know what they are called, u go close your hand the bones are easily seen) very painful leh
  
  then there is this female PE cum Hao Gong Ming pri sch tcher who like to punish ple by asking them to kneel 1/2 way, butt resting behind your back thigh or somethin. if you try to stand up right she will step on your back thigh

  there was one time i was humiliated in front of the class by a teacher.
  
  I can't face the class after so i decided to play truant.
  
  Parents found out... got beating of my lifetime.. 3 hours of caning, until bleeding. When i told them to stop, they say, serve you right, i cane you until your classmates laugh at you. I snatched the cane and throw out of the window.
  
  Something unexpected happen, they took out ANOTHER cane from Latern festival leftover.
  
  Few days later, when they foudn out i did not apologise to teacher for playing truant, they cane me on top of my blue black legs.
  
  I just feel this incident left a emotional scar on me...
  
  the incident made me lose my trust in my parents, till today, i lead a very personal life from them. Can't confide in them.
  
  now i think of it, what kind of parents do i have that wants to cane me so that outside ppl will laugh at me?

  yes.. i mean.. we still live in the same house and all.
  
  But i keep my life personal.
  
  don't seek them for life's advice... they dunno about my Gfs..
  
  i mean.. there isn't just that bond i see in other families.. where dads can enjoy their common pasttimes with his kids.
  
  family hugging each other when the meet after long time away... etc etc
  
  you know what i mean.. i just can't bond because of what happen.. there's just that "hatred" in them from me.

  Me almost same as u i was often called idiot b@stard by my mum and i remb pri 5 to sec 1 tat period i was under despression den when i did something wrong like throwing things around the house they will whack me up untill i bleed and den called the police that i throw things around the house . Surpisingly the mother fcuking police even side with them . From that time onwards whenever i do sumthing that they think is wrong they threaten to put me in Boy's Home saying what that they have a record of me doing this and that and it is easy to put me in. it was dam fcuk lor i talk on fone with my friends only they kpkb also cannot den with girl they say is my gf with boy they suspect i g@y den what can i do? sometimes in the middle of the night i cried upon thinking of this
  
  I even make a deal with my female friend that we will moved out and stay on our own when we reach 18

  now that im not living with her, at least i dont argue with her anymore.
  but even when im talking to her on the phone, its very awkward
  very formal and polite
  and i dont tell her stuff. even when she asks.
  its not that i DONT wanna tell her, its that somehow i CANNOT
  
  but at the end of the day...i think your parents still love you.
  sometimes they just cannot control their anger...
  
  she once told my me "im caning you on the legs so that your friends in school can ask you why..." and they didnt even stop when i was bleeding strangely, i never uttered a sound throughout the whole thing...

  Anyway, for me, not so abusive. But my parents could not tolerate me not eating with them, even if I was in the midst of important things. If I did not appear after a few calls, the cane would soon arrive.
  Besides that, my mum does not seem to understand that the phrase "you can go to hell" was something like a casual speech (at least between me and my cousins and friends) and uttering that without care in front of my mum once earned me a nice tight slap from my mum, in front of my grandmother.
  On the other hand, I think it was my fault though, I once had to see the principal in P5 for saying "f-u-c-k you".

  For those ppl scarred by the parents punishment, fret not. They maybe doing it all becuz they dun wan us to turn bad. It is said if parents are not willing to teach their kids well, then let the government police & prisons teach for them instead. If the police & prisons have to be called in, the situation is pretty at the most desperate times.
  
  So for those still not happy with parents punishment, simple solution is next time go get married and have kids and then as parents you can finally inflict the punishment you received last time onto them. MUAHAHHAHAHAHAH

  Now, knowing how "mentally weak" they are, i should have like run to the window ledge when the cane me..
  
  would like to see that sudden change in their face from anger to fear and make them realise what they have done to make me take that alternative.

  The threat to commit suicide is on the rise with nowaday kids and usually the kids win so now parents had lost an edge to punish their kids.
  
  For some ppl thinkin is if you wanna die die lor. Rather you die then later you get into drugs or any other vices that make your whole life miserable and society unsafe. Not to mention parents can save hellavu money to feed you cuz you are still dependent on parents for your living as a kid
