You can distribute songs via the latest P2P network aka Person-to-person network. It works like this: A buys a legal copy, rip it into digital format, make a copy. Friend B also buys a legal copy of another CD, rip it into digital format, copy into CD. A meets B to exchange. Viola! P2P network at its best.

I want to make a call for this. Why distribute music files. Just dun buy the $20 CDs. The parallel imports from China only cost around around $5.90 and it's perfectly legal. Buy China parallel imports! ya! That's probably how tower records gone bust. I bought from Bt Timah Turf City before. But I also saw it in other places.. can't remember. Cost is $5.90. I think it ever came out on the newspaper... about this parallel imports kicking the original price CDs asses. oops. CDs don't have asses. should be the music co. bosses asses

Well finally it's here, soon they will anyhow raid ppl who are 75+ and are clueless about using a computer.
Though pretty much everyone who has a DSL line is guilty for using p2p.
And anyone with non branded mp3 player from Sim Lim, is very likely guilty as well.
Bad Case Scenario: Singapore Internet Censors will start blocking all big p2p usage first, then the torrents, and keep blocking until finally we Singaporeans are cut out from all media except gamen controlled ones.

Any any PC expert here?Can explain on how they know who is the downloader of the song? What is the process they have done at the back? I wonder why, the police have not see that person and they know he is the criminal while he is at home????

1) User A is a customer of MoonHub.His internet service provider(ISP) is MoonHub.The ISP provide the internet service to the houshold of User A.
2) Each "Household" is issued an IP address by their ISP.
3) With this IP,the household(User A) is able to serve the net through sending and receiving data bytes from MoonHub.
4) MoonHub, since they manage the houshold's internet usage, will know what kind of websites User A visits and what kind data is sent and received by User A.
5) Theoritically, MoonHub is not authorised to release this information to RIAS but they have to release it to the police authorities upon request.
6) RIAS makes a complain to the police, saying someone has infringed the Intellectual Property law. The police checks with MoonHub and monitor the suspect's internet usage. Police finds out the household with the IP address 192.1.1.1(User A houshold) is downloading illegal songs. Thru tracing the IP address 192.1.1.1, the police will know from MoonHub which home address is this IP allocated to.
