You know, I get damn bloody annoyed, when I fill up petrol at stations and the cashier speaks to me in Mandarin but later I note she speaks English to the next customer behind me who is also Chinese local....

- go hawker centre n the uncles/aunties shout at u with very gei(fake) or forced mandarin "ni yao sherrrrr merrrrrrr?"
- go takashimaya n sometimes salesgals will whisper amongst themselves "aiyer, china girl also know how to shop here ah? hahaha....."
Wah lao, really kao bei kao bu kanasai man!! This is my country too ok! I m 4th generation somemore.
If u r a Singaporean guy n this happens to ur mother, wife or sister juz coz' they happen to not look typically S'porean, how would u feel?

Me also mistaken as a Malaysian plenty of times, but me kinda used to it liao...
Me remembered that there's once at a bridal service shop that me and my wife went for selection of wedding package, the shop assistant asked my wife (girlfriend then) that what sort of package she's looking at and she's fortunate to marry a Singaporean guy, and which province that my wife was from... My wife then told her that she's a Singaporean, not from PRoC or RoC, the shop assistant didn't believe and said my wife looked like one... When my wife told me about it, me told her that me's not considering her services anymore as it would be biased and walked off... -
when i went europe, they thought im jiponese
in sg, they thought im from china
in taiwan, they thought im from hongkong
in taiwan, they thought im fr taipei, and they start chatting with mi
i guess international face. -
I've been mistaken for Japanese, Korean, HongKonger, Malaysian and once PRC (before I opened my mouth to speak because my Mandarin sucks :lol

Ppl ask me if I'm from Singapore as well sometimes. But its not cos I look foreign, but that i can't really speak chinese well.
But when they hear me start swearing in hokkien...hohoho. -
there was a lot of time when people mistaken me as chinese indonesian. there are even few times when an indonesian speaks indonesian to me.

got mistaken as da lu mei a few times, bcos of the way i speak chinese
oso got ppl think me taiwanese
my manicurist said i look like russian chinese. (the chinese living at the fringes of the 2 countries)
got some guy say i look jipoonese porn actress
got someone say if im a male, i will look very handsome
got once i took cab and the cabbie start blabbering to me in malay even though he is chinese.....he tot i is malay......
got once i was shopping with a colleague and the assistant in the shop greet me "3 bowls pig legs", thinking i thai........(or worse, bapok)
and there are many times when i first meet some ppl, they will say, eh! u very familiar leh, maybe got see u somewhere before.... -

I got Mistaken as Taiwanese and Malaysian only.. Dunno why pple dun say i look like PRC but say look like taiwanese..

What is the PRC look?
I don't know how people tell who is from where; I can't accurately do so myself. I can tell you if someone is indian or chinese though .. -
