To put this simply,
At level 2,
We have
a) Nanny
b) Son
c) Wife
At level 1 lobby,
a) Maid
b) Butler
At level 1 room in lobby,
a) Cook
Out of the house,
a) Bodyguard
Logically, if we go by elimination process.. since Nanny is with son and son is not asleep. (Coaxing != sleeping)
There is only Butler, Bodyguard, Wife, Cook and Maid.
1) Given that a strong fight ensued and only one person actually fought.
We are left with Butler, Bodyguard and Cook, given that both the maid and wife are not as strong.
Since Maid was at lobby at almost all times with Butler except during when Butler visit the loo, Butler is already free of guilt.
To caps it all off, Butler is having a bad stomach, which makes him unfit to fight.
We're left with the cook and bodyguard. The bodyguard can easily overcome John so there won't be a struggle and the cook has the best chance of being undetected..
So there, solved.
While the pair at the lobby went to the dumb roof to see the cat, the cook climbed up the stairs. The kitchen window is left open because, the cook killed John but returned through the kitchen window as he would be caught if he came through the lobby back to his room. And since the maid is watching horrow show on TV. The cook could have returned to his room undetected yet forgetting his stupid window. -

Butler - he could be lying about having a diahaerra, but since he keeps
going to toilet (assuming toilet is in the first floor) he has no chance to
commit crime because the maid is at the up resided staircase or with him checking the roof.
Maid - only person "guarding" the staircase, but the only strange thing
happen in the night was the sound on the roof, and she is one of the
two that went to check, so its not her plus she's a female.

Cook -
open window in the kitchen is likely by him, reason being:
1) he didn't expect the maid to be there, so he went to the kitchen,
thru the window, makes a sound on the roof (or release the cat to the roof).
2) makes it looks like somebody from outside did it.
3) creates an impression the Bodyguard would have escaped from there
it is most likely him because:
1) he's on the first floor (able to access the kitchen)
2) he has the ability to let the butler get a severe diarrhea,
able to make the butler will be visiting the toilet often
3) he's a guy and likely to put up a pretty good fight with uncle John
4) only person to ensure that the kitchen window would be opened

i think its the bodyguard because he went out the whole day and no one is sure he is in town
the fact tt the kitchen window is open. If someone in the house did it, the window would not be opened.
He is definitely a match for john as he afterall, is the bodyguard
Possible scenerio:
climbed into the house,killed john, created the cat commotion and sneaked out through the kitchen window, in the morning come back drunk (possibly due to celebration?) -

Woah... I think some of you can go and write detective story... quite abit of analysis.... hmmm... I can't wait to reveal the answer.... But it was actually quite simple, I think You'll kill me when I tell you the answer....... if you know what are the things meant there as distraction.... Hmmm Ok i give one more hint....
Hints: The window at the study room was locked. And there is no sign of Break in.

I think it's the maid, cuz the butler who was supposedly chatting with her has been going in and out of the toilet. So she could kill her stupid boss while Butler went to lao sai.
