anyway u still young, make mistake can choose the other opinion n start all over again.Originally posted by InV-:oh no.. now i'm back to square one.. confused and unsure once again..
Yep, really is an irony.. if only life was made simpler.. lesser wants, lesser demands and more happiness.Originally posted by 798:anyway u still young, make mistake can choose the other opinion n start all over again.
the governments are encouraging singaporeans to further education, but it's irony dat there are too many degree holders in sg fighting jobs wif the foreigners.
x 2! those scholarship from A*star n SPRING tend to bias toward JC batch.Originally posted by cAr|n:i think poly is harder in the sense that u have 30+ modules to complete and u need to consistently maintain ur grade in every module every semester in order to graduate well... even in every module it can be made up of projects, tests and exams and u need to do well in each component
jc is probably easier to manage cos if u're enough of a mugger u can play for the first year and work very hard the 2nd year cos the only exam that determines ur grade is the A levels
i think if u believe that u have the quality to enter uni then go for poly.... cos wat u learn in poly builds a very strong foundation for ur studies in uni
i'm not sure about the course of ur choice... i'm a biz student from poly now in uni and i found this to be very true... the first and even 2nd yr in uni feels like a refresher course which goes a long way in strengthening basic concepts and helps u understand the harder topics easier
one thing u may have to note is that it is much harder for poly students to apply for uni scholarships than for jc students... seems that more scholarships are available to jc students... at least during my time
I have a question. If i were to be taking resort management(F&B related) courses, which local uni offers similar courses for a degree??Originally posted by cAr|n:i think poly is harder in the sense that u have 30+ modules to complete and u need to consistently maintain ur grade in every module every semester in order to graduate well... even in every module it can be made up of projects, tests and exams and u need to do well in each component

hmm... easier to go uni doesn't mean easy to get into the course of ur choice as well... especially for courses with very high cut-off points e.g medicine, law, etc
if end up in a course that u're not interested in lagi worse... that's why if go poly at least u got a relevant diploma to fall back on... of course this is a very conservative view lah
me is triple e, nanyang business sch n mass comm are beside my dept.Originally posted by cAr|n:wat is NBS? nanyang biz sch?
u're there now?
meaning the 200-300 ppl are those in top 3%??Originally posted by seanliew:Poly doesn't have course link to medicine. Unless u do nursing or u mean the top 3% of the whole intake. lol very very rare especially now got so many PRC ppl around.
Note JC is the best road for singaporeans to go U. Poly got too many ppl fighting for top 3%. And it really makes u look so weak and small in a hall of 200-300 ppl.
sorry it's 3% of 200-300 pplOriginally posted by InV-:meaning the 200-300 ppl are those in top 3%??
Go for something that you like...Originally posted by qwerys:hi if i would like to take a course like animation and programming in uni, should i take the poly route or JC route?
And also, if poly so hard to get scholarships how come got some wanna go poly instead or JC after their o levels?
