Sometimes some stuffs may seems easy but there will always be stuffs that you won't know and besides computer course aint cheap be glad that the school sponser it for you. You never know it will come in handy in the near future when you go out to work.Originally posted by Xephone_xenon:Err i read self improvment books like everytime? lol.
I go NLB and borrow some from time to time.
And i just bought this book named "rules of life"
I gonna use the time to do some N level revision work too.
The course is like some nooby computer, design course which only covers on the basic which i prolly know already. Which i am totally not interested.
Considering what i say is true. Option 1 is a far more better option
If you dont trust me then nvm. What more can i say.

It's quite amusing to see such know-it-all attitudes from youngsters today.Originally posted by Xephone_xenon:Applying it?
Can you enlighten me on how does going to this course thing makes me apply the things i have learned from books?
Its like blindly following something which i dont like right?
And therein lies the cause of eroding school authority. There has to be a line drawn between whimscal complaints by parents, and whistle-blowing in the case of teachers abusing their students.Originally posted by gLc:

Yes yes. But they shouldnt pay for the course fee and then make u go, when you didnt even sign up for it. Sorry but i dont believe in that, why should you attend something you have totally no interest in? Simply, if I dont turn up for the course, I dont see why should my parents pay for it as well.Originally posted by LazerLordz:And therein lies the cause of eroding school authority. By enrolling in a national school, there are limits to student choice and autonomy. If you want more choices/autonomy, go apply to enroll in an independant school or autonomous school.
Yep , just go.Originally posted by gingerbreadman:Why don't you be a nice student and just go?
the school pay for you means nothing? if i have this type of student, i rather donate to the children of africa.Originally posted by Xephone_xenon:The main reason of why i dun wan to go is not because the course is nooby. Its just that the course simply dont interest me. I am not interested in design. If there is a course on making barbie dolls clothes will you go?
I am just angry at the school policy. Seriously the school paying for us means nth.
Yeah my post was arrogant. But not to the extend of saying i know everything.
kopiosatu you assuming too much la.
They should have do it actually. Obviously no one borthers. Or rather 90% of the people.Originally posted by Dead_Man_Inc:the school pay for you means nothing? if i have this type of student, i rather donate to the children of africa.
and you said its 2 months before N'levels, maybe by then you keep revising until very stress, and this course can help you de-stress? you never know...
Schooling is about perserverance. As you grow up and eventually join the work force, there are always things you are interested in and things you are not but it doesn't mean that you can quit the job when you are given works that don't interest you. If that's the mentality you have i.e. expecting to only do things that interest you, I think you will have a hard time finding a "right" job and be happy in the future.
Good luck!
if you have no interest doesn't mean you can't gain something new out of the course.. well who knows? Maybe in the future you're gonna need it... never assume something before you try it...Originally posted by Xephone_xenon:The main reason of why i dun wan to go is not because the course is nooby. i think you and I have quite different opinions about the actions and thoroughness of pre-action planning/investigations by the schoolsOriginally posted by dranoel maxwell:well you just gonna suck it up and go i believe the school have had thought about the usefulness of the course before organising it for the student to go...
I think whenever you are given the opportunity to attend a course, just go. You have nothing to lose for learning something new. Who knows? The course might turn out to be better than you thought.Originally posted by Xephone_xenon:I get what you mean but now i do have the choice right?
My pointOriginally posted by hisoka:anyway i don't actually think planning courses for the kids is wrong but to threaten to charge for non-attendance is problematic. note that the child/parent didn't sign up for the course with full consent. if they "fine" the child/parents for misbehaviour, it sounds wrong if they do not subsidize then there is a question of whether the school was purchasing things and charging it to the child/parents.
just go for the course it might be useful. unless you tell me the course location is very far requiring long travelling time and you will spend the time studying for your N lvls.Originally posted by Xephone_xenon:My point

its a free course and even if you don't learn stuff you will at least revise or have fun with your classmates
