goto google and type in Jajah. Its likes skype but not pc to pc but phone to phone. You log onto the website and arrange the call between the regular phone numbers.

Starhub calling 018 to many country is Local charges (as good as Local phone call charges, must check what plan first, not all plans appplies)
malaysia also has those Wartel service can call back cheap
Celcom also started their VOIP mobile phone cheap call now. please check -

Yes I am planning to move in Singapore, but not so soon. So have to find a cheaper way to call for the next few months... -
I think I have found out one of the cheaper ways
Phoenix card allows 120 minutes of calling from Singapore to Malaysia with just S$10 -
Starhub has mobile phone plans that offer free IDD 018 calls to several countries including Malaysia. You only pay for the local call costs, which is billed on per second basis, and can count towards your free local talktime.
Bear in mind that 1) you HAVE to sign up for a plan that supports 018 free calls.. and 2) Always dial the 018 sequence manually.. I've come across a rare case in the past where a customer saved his friend's number in his phonebook using 018, but when they called his friend via the phonebook, he was charged premium 008 rates. There was this huge investigation and turned out to be the phone software fault. So be careful.
As for the Phoenix card, you might have to hop down to a nearby 7-11 outlet etc to check out the card's rates. It's still cheaper than the mobile phone calls, but it's only practical to use it from a land line. hope it helps. -

sunshine = 198 min (to mobile)
AAA = 198 min (to mobile)
and although the card is $10, they usually sell them from $8 to $8.50 depending on the cards
I get U1 for $8.50
and sunshine for $8 -

You can always use Skype to minimise cost.. its pretty clear actually.. used to use it to chat with my peeps in msia and aussie.. and its FOC.. and definately much better than msn/yahoo.
