go kranji, cross the overhead bridge and hope on to 160 or 170 (blue plate). u can take 170 or CW1 as well but not recommended.Originally posted by GHoST_18:i just need to cross over to the JB customs...

i think half of the buses or more than that are serving 170X (blue plate) and only running between kranji and kota raya....Originally posted by finoq:170 wasn't as frequent as before

thank u...Originally posted by ^tamago^:go kranji, cross the overhead bridge and hope on to 160 or 170 (blue plate). u can take 170 or CW1 as well but not recommended.
when u reach the checkpoint, tap u card out to suspend the ride, clear customs and tap the card to resume the ride when u board again. same thing happens at jb. u can choose not to reboard at jb, it is ok not to resume the ride, cos ur fares are properly calculated....
if u board sbst buses, u can take any sbst bus on each segment of the journey, means u can be taking a 170 to woodlands customs, and take a 160 bus across the causeway because it came first, then from there u can reboard according to ur destination.... if u board 950, u have to wait for another 950 to come for each segment of ur journey if u wan ur fare to be counted as that of one journey....

prone to jam mah....Originally posted by sbst275:170R freq quite erratic one
At Bt Timah, sometimes can come 3 at 1 go
SJE high time to renew their fleetOriginally posted by ^tamago^:prone to jam mah....
and 170R is not really in high demand.... many ppl at queen st take CW2 (over SJE's older buses) and those at kranji wait for 170X or 160, so the only demand is along bt timah rd that side nia... plus 170 goes one round inside woodlands centre rd....
oh...Originally posted by ^tamago^:np, just note 2 things:
it is ok to tap ur card like everyone else when they get down to clear customs. u can always resume ur ride, and on any buses of the same company. the traffic inspectors will ask u to board any bus, and u can resume ur ride on any of the buses of the same company.
also, try out the new clearance machines for singapore passports, where u just need to scan the first page in the sentinel duo machine, then move on to scan ur fingerprint. way faster! they used to have it only at changi airport.![]()
u wan to pay by RM on 170 ah?Originally posted by sbst275:But I would keep some RM when coming back
