how big are the chances of using a higher nitec to go into a poly course? lets say in a class of 20, how many can get in to poly?
and the gpa. easy to hit at least 3.0? -

Hey everyone i need help!!! i got 12 points for R5. wanna go a JC..probably arts course but with h2 maths
can any1 recommend any good JCS pls???? i am really confused.
my choices so far are:
meridian - too stressful
catholic - too slack
nanyang - too cheena (i duno whether this is true anot but my chinese really sucks i cant stand chinese) -
I got A2 for chinese!! Can get promoted to sec 4 hcl. My oral skills get distinction!! =) =) =)

I have gotten 14 for my L1R5. Its neither here nor there. It can only bring me to the neighbourhood JCs, but if i were to turn to poly, i get to enter 1 of the best courses, like mass communication, which is my interest too. But many people have warned me that the prospects of a poly graduated isnt secured and its still safer to go by the convectional route, jc to uni.
In my knowledge, the top 10% of the poly cohort will qualify to enter the local uni. But what grades must it be? 3.5?
Another question. If i were to retake my Olevels once again, and i score, eg 9, can i appeal to enter a better school with this new sets of results? and if the appeal is successful, will i be entering as a J1 or J2?
And lastly, i would like to know if its possible to register for both a poly and JC simultaneously or must one be forsaked? -

Chances of a Higher Nitec getting to a poly course is high, as long as your GPA is good. But of course, don't bet on this, because you are competing with Nitec students as well. While they say it's good to have at least a 3.0, safest is have 3.5 and above. -

Anyway, the prospects of a mass comm grad is rather good, since their studies are broad-based, covering journalism all the way to advertising. So there will be a wide array of choices for you when you graduate.
I've always thought it's top 5% to enter. Maybe I'm wrong, but even with the recent changes, those still apply. What defines top 5% or 10% depends on your cohort; the number fluctuates.
You can apply for a JC, but not through JAE. You have to visit the JC of your choice. You will be entering as a J1 student, no skipping of levels as per all government school rules. Whether or not are you a genius.
Last question, yes you can. But if you put poly courses above JC courses and didn't get in to any of the poly course, your application for JC is redundant. Put JC courses in front, poly at the back. -

I know this might sound stupid but I was wondering how to fill up the 12 choices if your selecetion's a JC?
I know how the poly one works cause there are codes but the ones for JC?
do i have to include the JC arts/science code plus the subject codes or what?[/i] -
