What are your Money saving habits?

i only use notes to pay...
so end of the month ALOT of coins....
so i save about 5% of my pocket money in coins per month.. -

i am quite an extreme money saver, heres some of my money saving habits:
1.avoid restaurants and fast food restaurants as much as possible, i rarely eat fast food and i go to coffee shops for most of my meals, but not food courts
2.avoid eating any meals that cost more than 4 dollars, and instead of ordering drinks, drink plain water instead.
3.always look out for the best deals, and buy only items that u need. not items that u want.
there are more ways to save money, just remind urself that u nid to save money whenever u wan to spend -
lend to friends, so that i will have no money, then they pay back, i lend them again lol

Keep track of your spending. Use paper, spreadsheets, etc. Make sure it's visible When you receive your pay, set a portion of it immediately Do a monthly budget Eat at food courts or coffeeshops Avoid taking taxis (means you have to plan your time properly to avoid 'emergency' situations) Don't buy because you want to have what others have
Above all, be discipline in keeping to your plans to save.

i have 2 bank accounts, one for expenditure and one for savings. i used to have 1 bank account but i feel it is not good enough cos i cant see the money saved monthly. besides it is very easy to swipe the card away without realising that you have overspent and used your savings to pay for the purchases.
so i got my 2nd bank account and had my salary credited to this account to be used for expenditures. i set a monthly fund transfer arrangement to transfer my savings to my 1st savings account. this way you force yourself to save the money once you get your salary. usually you have to keep min $500 for the expenditure account to prevent the $2 deduction so bear in mind not to spend til there is less than $500. calculate beforehand the savings that you can really save so that you wont be dry before your next salary comes and end up withdrawing your savings. -
i dun go and see how much i earned. when i dun see the money in my bank i wont know how much is in there.
and when i dun know how much is in there, i presume im broke. and i dun spend.

last time i always transferred $600 of my pay every month into another account that i won't touch at all.
it helps control spending.
take the train or bus, avoid the cab by coming out early n not be late.
eat yr breakfast n dinner at home
don't buy things that u want, buy things that u need.
Change things when they r spoilt not out of style. -
i put aside 1K every month, and never touch it..though i have the atm card with me..some ppl dont even make any atm card for their saving account...i dont like the idea of having difficulty withdrawing ur own money if theres emergency! -
force urself to take onli a certain amt when go out
then plan how u should use it
indirectly, u will eat cheaper food, buy cheaper things, and get use to it like me -
I just chuck it aside since I seldom go out, which also means seldom spent money. However, I have no saving at all.

No use one sia, at least for my current group of friends. Lend them money they never pay back. I lost count of how much they own me already, I think add together now at least own me $20. Aside from savings... usually I will keep my angpow money from my birthday and CNY in the red packets and put them at the back of my drawer. I also have some plastic notes in mint condition, with nicey numbers (but not SO nice that they're really valuable).
These I don't touch unless there's an emergency...
... which is imminent!
and the angpows I keep for good luck too.
Maybe to some, a few hundred dollars can't feed you for long. But when you're jobless and really feeling desperate, that sum is an oasis!!!!

everytime save liao, coming to mid month also muz take out money from savings for food and transport.. -
dont go shopping center...some still can but aviod some..
if not sure spend big bucks
but i still spend alot on food which i had a problem to...cut it down..
