Monks purchasing branded goods?

for ur infor, some monks hav their personal jobs outside, dey practise buddhism because of their own interest, therefore, monk driving mercedes is ok with me, coz many of these monks are actually CEO of big companies.
u think every monk is poor or wad meh? of course la, monk go buy 4D toto is too far le, coz teachings prevent dem from doing so. but buying branded goods and driving big cars doesnt mean dat dey are using money from donations in the temple.... -

Guys, stop all the name-calling on religions and faith.
First, it was the guy whom Criticized about Khim Zhuar and now about monks purchasing branded goods.
First of all, I am a Taoist. I'm not siding anyone over here but i GUESS aloof_guy is just like Diesel_Dimension over at the Khim Zhuar thread - they are trying to stir up trouble.
So do you guys seriously wan this thread to be locked everyone to be banned?
If not, SHUT YOUR TRAP and GET ON WITH YOUR LIFE.

I stated also that everyone is sinful by nature however, you agree that something must be done when we sin right?
If i were a monk and i see a dying girl, i would pray for her instead of buying an expensive gift?
I think this clearly explains why i posted here. I felt that these acts by monks should be justified and if a reasonable reason is given then yeap its okay. I did not say he is buying these stuff for his own good.
I feel that the people who have been donating to temples should know how temples calculate their expenses and i feel, should be more transparent about it. -

Most churches are transparent about their budget and post them in annual bulletins. Temples.. im not too sure. (Please dont say im judging agn but i've never heard of them doing it before) -

YOu are judging you are just doing it in a subtle way. Go practise all that is taught in the bible before you question anyone from other religions. How sure are you that the temples do not publish the report? Don't judge me and tell me I am a shame to my religion - how sure are you able my religion? I hear that some of these monks return to the secular world but with expertise on funeral proceedings they can conduct them and get some fees...not sure if it goes to donations or into their own pockets. there r different type of monks
mostly chan zong, the 'si da jie kong' type like ren ci boss
and the mi zong, the more relaxed type like taiwan's flashy celebrity nun as reported in sundaytimes
there r also some dat enter monkhood for a certain period of time like every thai male have to become monk once in their life. and sg's jason oh who became monk for 3 yrs den return to normal life(sundaytimes). these short-term monks obviously cant/wont si da jie kong. as a result they drive car, buy ipod etcetc.
having said that, every religion bound to have 'bad eggs' like :
american or european bishop dat have sex with boys
thai monk dat have sex with children
the st. theresa church pastor/priest dat 'eat' money
taoist priest that bluff follower to have sex inorder to purge 'evil'
muslim religious teacher that have sex with children
all these were reported in ST, and once a while similar cases appear again

No need to ban anyone lah. When different views were being shared sometimes the temperature unexpectedly raised too. Everyone entitle to give their ideas or views. 'You si man man suo'
. No need to show who is right or wrong. Forum is like that one especially when one type words or sentences and there are no inflections to them so got mistaken for being hostile is not uncommon.
Monks, pastors, priests are just a noun to explain an individual who practises religions/teachings.
So I vote the next time if any of us see monks, pasttors, priests who wear or buy goods especially branded ones hor, approach them and ask them outright. If they are as pristine and pure as they really are, they would not be afraid to answer our query right?

Regarding donation, monks very very rarely do it outside. And those monks that beg for alms (Theravada monks) cannot receive any money. They can only beg for food.And they cannot do it after 12 p.m, so if you see them in afternoon or night asking for anything except medicine, they're fake. Also the monks require permits to beg for alms, you can ask them to show their permit.

Do you know nowadays lots of Buddhist organisations are making music for the youngsters as well as for the adults? There are lots of Buddhist music production going on these days. Those accessories might be used for their studios.
All these are really common, so please do not make assumption before you ask the person yourself, personally.
