Manager, this soul aloof is a christian so this explains why he/she is against the monk.Originally posted by Manager433:Pls ask if FIFI wants to ban me or not.
hiphop, if TS is so genuinely concern about monks buying whatever, suggests he goes talk to the shi fu ming yi from Ren Ci. but I doubt his sincerity. From my experience when vast majority of the christians talk about monks or others from other religions their motives of doing so are questionable, and this Aloof is no exception.Originally posted by hiphop2009:for ur infor, some monks hav their personal jobs outside, dey practise buddhism because of their own interest, therefore, monk driving mercedes is ok with me, coz many of these monks are actually CEO of big companies.
u think every monk is poor or wad meh? of course la, monk go buy 4D toto is too far le, coz teachings prevent dem from doing so. but buying branded goods and driving big cars doesnt mean dat dey are using money from donations in the temple....
Yes i am a christian but that doesnt mean im bias. I admitted that the priest was wrong and is an embarrassment to christians.Originally posted by rane:So bingo, I am right that you are a christian. So this explains why you are bias against monks!!!! I don't think Christianity teach one to be bias against one another. love your enemy says Jesus, ha ha ha!!!! And christianity also teaches christians, pastors not to judge, so ???? how sure are you that no pastors lust for such materialism? how you explain that pastor who buys branded goods to pamper his wife? If christianity teaches christians not to be materialistic all the more the pastor should not buy branded stuff just to pamper the wife. Do not judge or you will be judged that is what the bible says, so practise it christian! if you christians want to win souls then practise what your bible teaches you lah!
Eg - if a monk (in general) has the money as a gift from someone and he goes spend and buy something that a dying girl wants so much, so cannot meh!!!!
Yeah, want this thread to be banned.Originally posted by CKeer:Guys, stop all the name-calling on religions and faith.
First, it was the guy whom Criticized about Khim Zhuar and now about monks purchasing branded goods.
First of all, I am a Taoist. I'm not siding anyone over here but i GUESS aloof_guy is just like Diesel_Dimension over at the Khim Zhuar thread - they are trying to stir up trouble.
So do you guys seriously wan this thread to be locked everyone to be banned?
If not, SHUT YOUR TRAP and GET ON WITH YOUR LIFE.
Cheers.

so you said it, we also want the church to be transparent in their account - tidth/tides (10% contribution by christians) and offering received, how they handle this $$$ ? So you still insist you want to find fault! Any pastors here to tell your sheep or goat, snake or serpent to shut the mouth to stop troublemaking???Originally posted by aloof_guy:Yes i am a christian but that doesnt mean im bias. I am not judging, i am merely questioning why a monk is buying branded stuff.
I stated also that everyone is sinful by nature however, you agree that something must be done when we sin right?
If i were a monk and i see a dying girl, i would pray for her instead of buying an expensive gift?
I think this clearly explains why i posted here. I felt that these acts by monks should be justified and if a reasonable reason is given then yeap its okay. I did not say he is buying these stuff for his own good.
I feel that the people who have been donating to temples should know how temples calculate their expenses and i feel, should be more transparent about it.
Very nice language. Clearly a shame to your religion.Originally posted by rane:so you said it, we also want the church to be transparent in their account - tidth/tides (10% contribution by christians) and offering received, how they handle this $$$ ? Why u focus on the monk only? Your motive of starting this thread is very questionable, you are obviously faultfinding!!!! Go pray to your god lah, ask your god to stop you from finding fault in others. in the bible it talks about finding prank in the eye of the other but not your own, and you are just doing this! Go practise all that is taught in the bible before you question the monk.Originally posted by aloof_guy:Yes i am a christian but that doesnt mean im bias. YOu are judging you are just doing it in a subtle way. Go practise all that is taught in the bible before you question anyone from other religions. How sure are you that the temples do not publish the report? Don't judge me and tell me I am a shame to my religion - how sure are you able my religion? Shame on you to judge me to say I am shame to my religion and yet keeps denying you judge. Go confess your sins to your god lah!Originally posted by aloof_guy:Very nice language. Most churches are transparent about their budget and post them in annual bulletins. Temples.. im not too sure. (Please dont say im judging agn but i've never heard of them doing it before)

I hear that some of these monks return to the secular world but with expertise on funeral proceedings they can conduct them and get some fees...not sure if it goes to donations or into their own pockets. I'd like to think of it being the former, but we just shouldn't assume in any case.Originally posted by jonchao72:During my ah gong's funeral in M'sia there was this monk wearing big gold specs. After the funeral about a few weeks later i was cycling at east coast park and that exact monk cycled past me. He was wearing normal clothes (not saffron robes). Then i was like WTF??!!??
Looked like he was on holiday or something...![]()
strictly speaking...I only can see the monk looking at the display in the showroom.Originally posted by aloof_guy:This is just one of the many times i've spotted a monk purchasing branded goods, taking taxis etc. This time i've come with a picture.
This monk was purchasing 5 ipod accesories and them not just being the normal type but each were abt the speaker box size.
No offense to the religion involved but are monks justified to acts like this?
Couldnt take a close up as my phone motorola v3x has a camera sound. Have to trust me that he was carrying it if you dont then really doesnt matter yea.Originally posted by Xcert:strictly speaking...I only can see the monk looking at the display in the showroom.

One day, during art class, the art teacher told the class to draw animal. She would be collecting the art pieces at the end of the lesson.Originally posted by aloof_guy:Couldnt take a close up as my phone motorola v3x has a camera sound. Thats right. Monks obviously do not do such things -- beware of such fake monks.Originally posted by Manager433:Those monks u saw going to Hotel 81, buy 4D, hanging around coffeeshops asking for donations ( they onli want hard cash ) are all fake. Or u can ask the monk ( CEO of Ren Ci hospital ). He can give u more info.
That's not a monk.Originally posted by jonchao72:During my ah gong's funeral in M'sia there was this monk wearing big gold specs. Seriously, all you have to do is to go up to the monk, ask him kindly what he intends to do with the ipod accessories.Originally posted by aloof_guy:This is just one of the many times i've spotted a monk purchasing branded goods, taking taxis etc. This time i've come with a picture.
