TS opened a thread and shared her view pertaining to Shanmugam Murugesu's incident. This is a forum, people come in and share their views and you can agree and disagree with what was being expounded.
The sarcasm and hostility were just uncalled for.
And as much as TS is sorry for Shanmugam and you're sorry for "the LA streets that stunk so bad in summer"
I am sorry for the uniquely singaporean impression you're giving to our new friend here. -

Singapore sure isn't a perfect place... but at least we don't ahve a street with drugs. The law is set and this guy came in in full knowing of the consequence yet he does it. I understand that there is people who live in poverty and needed the money very much. But there are many other decisions available. Drug trafficking is just the easy way out and the highest return.
I guess we are deeply influenced by our chinese background. How the west once poisoned our race with opium. -

Before his arrest, Shanmugram worked as a taxidriver and a free-lance window cleaner to support his sons and mother. He also contributed income to his sister and her 3 children. He did not have any previous convictions except for a minor traffic offence." -

I just want to make a note , that alot of these policies that dictates our minds are because of politicians , some with thier own agenda. N thus bringing forward and imposing thier laws and regulations worldwide.
Both sides have thier reasons b beliefs, but maybe we should all look deeper as to WHY these laws were implemented , who and soon u will see the strings slowly connecting the littles pieces. With the internet nowadays , like i said , the information highway , by doing some research yourselves , you will see as to why. By knowing history will u truly know the cause and effect of the decisions made today. -

so he served in other govt sectors..
so he represented singapore in water sport events..
does it justify the crime he commited?
serving the country does not give u the right to commit a crime and hope the country may forgive u or give u a lenient punishment. -

With the amount he brought into SG, I highly doubt he wanna use it himself. Most probably wanna sell it to other and make money outta it. It's always the same old story, once get caught, they will say they brougt it in for own consumption.
oh, btw, he shoulda brought it into the US of A and smoke em. Should be no problem for him though, if the impression I got here is valid.
