Isn't school uniform a form of identity?

Actually it's stated that the only form of identification will be via a student's concession pass. Be thankful that now EZ-Link is incorporated together with the Student Concession Pass. In the past, students are required to carry their Concession Pass with their Fare Card.
I've encountered such incidents plenty of times. The BC is doing his job, thus I've nothing to argue against. -

The whole system is stupid. The ezlink card and the identity is together as one. SBS tell bus captains must check ezlink card whether is student pass, they just follow blindly.
Personally, I feel that bus captains and SBS itself has to take some of the blame when the bus captains get assaulted. I mean, if I don't have I/C and my ezlink card is my onli identity card, it is obviously extremely important to me right? yet as long as there's a prob with it, bus captains are told to retain it. some will tell u the reason some will just give u stupid answer.
Even if they tell u it's company policy, who in their right mind will surrender his/her identity card over without a fight? I'm a normal teenager and I'm not a pai kia but if it happens to me as well, depending on the bus driver's tone of voice i'll also quarrel with him and demand my card back.
okok back to the topic, basically bus captains as well as the whole policy is stupid, useless, and lacks of common sense.
The bus captains follow the policy, but forget the reason why the policy was created in the first place. The whole idea is to allow students cheaper fares. If u implemented this during kampung days (i not born yet but see before video and stories from my mum), the bus driver or bus conductor will see by face.. like the hawker centre uncle who remembers his customers and may give discounts just by memory of who is who..
in fact the bus drivers n conductors then would be more personal and becos the same bunch of kids take the bus everyday they are like their caretaker on the way to school and from school also..
fast forward to modern times, everything about professionalism, follow the book, everyone forgets why we have these rules and policies in place.. haiz..

CONDITIONS OF USE
The School Smartcard / ITE Student ez-link card is not transferable.
It must be carried at all times as proof of eligibility when travelling. School uniforms do not prove students' eligibility for travel concession.
It must be shown without demand to the bus driver, inspector or other authorised staff of SBS Transit, SMRT, SLRT and TransitLink.
Legal proceedings may be taken against any person who misuses the card, allows any misuse of the card, or breaches any of the Terms & Conditions, for the use of the School Smartcard / ITE Student ez-link card.
SBS Transit, SMRT, SLRT and TransitLink reserve the right to retain any card deemed necessary for investigation.
The ez-link card shall be retained if it has been tampered with, misused, replaced or refunded -
other way is to show IC loh. but then again, nowadays kids don't do their IC so early right?

Got once, the uncle say I too tall, then cannot pay student fare.
Meaning I got to be as short as little primary school kiddos lah. -
Most Singapore Bus Captains just have lousy attitude towards passengers.
You should see those in Europe.
Simply put, SBS's service quality and attitude of the bus drivers towards passengers are just plain lousy.
I've had a few unhappy incidents with bus drivers in Singapore, and in 2 of the incidents, I lodged a complain to the company against the driver. I'm not sure however if they took the action which they replied me with. -
