Bringing back to Qur'an...even if it is in its original language over the years, the same issues of interpretations, expression, etc... existed. How can we then be so sure that there was no distortion?

The earliest extant Qu'ran is from .. I think .. one of the earliest Caliph's era. So it is pretty close to the time of the Prophet. If you compare that with the Qu'ran today, I don't think you can find any major distortion. -

The point you made is interesting - unify various warring Arab factions? Why would the Prophet do that? In fact, the Prophet and his buddies had to escape from danger zones many times. Why would they attempt to start from nothing and start with an idea that make other warring factions dulan with them? -

Sorry man I don't get down like that. Yes the Prophet wanted to do that, while under fire by the leaders of different tribes. He wanted peace and everyone to listen to the word of Allah. if you look at history, Islam is a religion of peace. In contrast, Christian nations fare badly. Look at the golden age of Spain, the mughul in India etc. Christianity brought about the dark ages; Islam a revival. The Renaissance has its roots in Islam 'cos they preserve the ancient Greek writings in Arabic.
Yup, so the question is, how can a lovely religion has such unlovely followers? -

It is hard to see the lovely-ness in religions like Christianity.

Actually I purposely quoted examples where the nation is the same for both cases.
Look at the Golden Age of Spain under the Muslims. Then look at Spain under Isabella and Ferdinand after 1492. Specifically, look at the fate of the Jews under Muslim rule and Christian rule. Isn't it amazing .. the Golden age of Jewish culture happen during the reign of Muslim rulers, not Christian rulers. We wonder why. Under Christian rulers, we have the spanish expulsion -

There is no out of context argument here. Verse 106 is a stand alone verse. -

Also, the previous? Pope did apologize to the Jews for the damage done by the Church. If the Church was amicable to the Jews, why did He have to apologize?
It is good that you respect other religions. But your spiritual forefathers certainly didn't think so. The Jewish Golden Age became the Spanish Inquisition when Catholic rulers replaced the Muslim rulers. What is happening here? -
