I did not say money that temples collect 100% goes to help people..I myself have doubts over where the money goes to in temples too..
So don't ASSUME that I only target churches and christians..
Go read back my first few posts..I said Places of Worship nowadays are too commercialised..I never say churches nowadays are too commercialised..so please read everything properly before making an ASS out of U and ME.. -

Everyone has his/her own beliefs, be it in the various religions or not. We have no right to question their faith. We can only seek to question what some practioners of their faith do, but never use the potentially unsavoury minority examples to tar all practioners of the faith altogether.

If u read about my earlier post,i have said that the money is use to send ppl to other countries to spread the word of god and they still ask where the money go to...
Its not even their money and they make such a fuss over it -
Went to CHC for like, 3-4months odd. Heard of double tithing? Not only do you give tithes during service, you have to give tithes during cell group meeting too! So in a week you're giving 2 tithe...+ if you are a member of their church, you have to donate for the Rise & Build program.
And wow, i do feel that they're really very commercialized. Their current focus turns on to help evangelize in China. Good market prospect ?? Why not the poorer countries in africa?
Just don't like their way of preaching as a church - it is like marketing. E.g. "Free ben and jerry icecream for New Friends!"
Compared to a methodist church i went to in my neighbourhood, is really very different. -

2 girls in my class (no more, cus graduated from sec4 liao) go to chc, one even try psycho people convert and follow her. almost all the guys felt disgusted by what she was trying to do...
anyway, setting the amount you have to donate? then CHC is just a BUSINESS. period -

Regarding the rockbands in the church, I think its ok because we are living in a new modern era. So its not uncommon to see youngsters seeing christian songs in rock genre, as long as their heart is with god, should be ok.
About the money part... it seems, some churches practise that too, just not on a scale as large as CHC. -
I'm not against pastors having money , even Jesus grandfather, Maryam father came from a rich jewish household I heard.
Anyway It's the source of the income that's in doubt, if pastors earn the money outside of the church, that;s their business..
Remember how jesus got angry and chased away the money changers in the temple grounds,

Had you all considered the electrical bills ?
Since CHC is temp at expo .. They maybe renting the venue per week (for service) and the rental fee maybe superb high ? (Correct me if i'm wrong)
And maybe the community at the church had to pay taxes or whatever bills leh ?
Hmm .. maybe we should try to look at the different point of views rather than asking where the $ goes to ? Anyway , its all about $ .. Do you gain or benefit anything when you die ? Will the $ that you have be used afterlife ? -

Islam has no 10% tithes, but it has zakat. It is mandatory for Muslims as it is one of the Five Pillars of Islam.
However, note the following points:
1. It is only around 2.5%.
2. It is an obligation ONLY when your annual wealth EXCEEDS a certain level (the principle is called the nisab)
