nowaday modern prc's dress sense is more fashionable, to the point pple mistaken them as one of us. they even can copy our culture well by speaking in sg accent like singlish. just look at mediacorp Le Yao and 715.
this is why i say speaking hokkien is something they cannot follow as the tone is not the same as ours. -
PRC students however very distinct one.
can spot form 100m away, the way they dress. -

Many people think I hate being mistaken for PRC because I personally have something against PRCs or look down on them.
Truth is, what i hate is that when u get mistaken for PRC, u get mistaken in connection with all the things they are associated with , like student-mistresses, cheats or worse, hookers! That's why those uncles or ah peks keep smiling at you, Or those aunties keep staring at you like they want to kill you !
I mean, how would u feel? Being mistaken for a hooker? -

And how do u know someone is mistaking u for a PRC?
- super sleazy taxi drivers who keep asking u where u from, even when u've repeated a gazillion times u r born n bred in choa chu kang
- aunties always staring at u like u killed their whole families
- go hawker centre n the uncles/aunties shout at u with very gei(fake) or forced mandarin "ni yao sherrrrr merrrrrrr?"
- go takashimaya n sometimes salesgals will whisper amongst themselves "aiyer, china girl also know how to shop here ah? hahaha....."
Wah lao, really kao bei kao bu kanasai man!! This is my country too ok! I m 4th generation peranakan somemore.
If u r a Singaporean guy n this happens to ur mother, wife or sister juz coz' they happen to not look typically S'porean, how would u feel?

when i was young in pri sch, people always thought i was a china kia cause my hair was always cut short and i used to have a china-boy look.
now NO MORE.

Acutally its a compliment that you can mistaken for PRC gal coz they are chioer than our local gals.

Nah, never, but lots of people seem to think I'm Eurasian.
In contrast, my oldest sister gets mistaken a lot for a Malay, while my 2nd sister looks perfectly Singaporean. They think my mum's Korean though. -
PRC can be very differentiated when they speaks...
Another thing... you will know that you are PRC when people call you A Baoz when you walk past.... -
