Bottomline is you still need a pretty face to look nice, whether slim or ba ba.
But if you don't have a pretty face to begin with, better stay slim.

Sometimes guys not necesarily go for pretty gals, they may go for hot bods without pretty face. -

Almost all of the Singaporean guys I know like skinny girls . Never mind personality like sh*t or face like sh*t, skinny = beautiful . One Singaporean guy I know has a girlfriend who is skinny like a stick insect, face is almost skeletal with a personality of a doorknob but he keeps her because she is "pretty" and he is so scared that he cannot get any better pretty girls .
And when I date other nationalities, the singaporeans I know ask me why I don't date singaporean. HOW TO when I am not skinny? At least the non SG guys I am seeing love me for personality ....and one guy for some freaking odd reason thinks my figure is good (I am abit on the plump side) .

i dont like thin girls. They give me the impression of them being fragile. Dont want to break them into 2.

Frankly speaking,majority of the women in singapore are skinny and thin(Have certain extent) as a result men in singapore have narrow view towards the gals.Actually women is the problem which is causing men to choose slim gals.You know why?Women tend to keep themselves slim-fit or damn slim.What singaporean men see in singapore is much of the same "species".LOL.i believe if more singaporean gals eat more than usual tobecome bak bak girl(Not mentioning fat).I thk Singapoean guys will still able to accept them.Just that we men have to get used to bak bak girl ya.

If there wasn't so much pressure from ourselves to be "slim", then we wouldn't have as many slimming centre ads as we do now. The worst part is that they even pick fit celebrities to be their ambassadors and try to help them lose even more weight.
Anyway, Rachel Weisz, KT and the singers from Celtic Woman are far healthier looking to me than some of the waifs clinging to their boyfriends in town and on motorbikes.

I believe it has to do with personal preferences. Different people have different definitions of slim.
