Sometimes the person didn't do anything, on the stand the lawyer would accuse him/her... Something like that...
The situation in the courtroom is adversarial, yes, and it is all an exercise in passing judgement. It will be hard to call this fitnah though, because the questions and assertions of the lawyers are not mere personal opinions of bad taste - they are operations of inquiry and morever, they are under the restraints of legal maxims and writs.
Anyway, I've never managed a full month of fasting. Always got a few days overly tempted by food. How you all doing so far also...
Btw, if you're working already, don't forget to send the green ang paos to me okay? Thanks.

I am a Chinese non-Muslim who like to point out that I observe some Muslims never fast during Ramadan and are not ill at all.

Why should they be ill? They never fast its up to them and god. I think no one, regardless of muslim or non-muslim should interfere in their activities.

Then what's the point of having a justice system if it's haram/makruh to be a lawyer?
isnt it?law works in such a way that the best debater wins.if i hav a client that i knw is guilty but i still try his case and acquit him, isnt it wrong?anyways, thats the logic that my friends presented me with.morally wrong at least.

I believe many would say that is how lawyer jokes come about.
As far as I know, there is no blanket prohibition on being a lawyer and maybe we should ask the muslim lawyers themselves how they reconcile with this or avoid it.
The situation you described is experienced by the Prophet too when he was asked to act as a judge and arbiter. "I am but a human being. When you bring a dispute to me, some of you may be more eloquent in stating their cases than others. I may consequently adjudicate on the basis of what I hear. If I adjudicate in favour of someone a thing that belongs to his brother, let him not take it. For it would be like taking a piece of fire." Muslims scholars use this hadith to say that an error in a legal decision is an ever present possibility.
If you're interested in self-research of how muslims administer justice under different court procedures, if I'm not wrong, you can find it in books of jurisprudence under headings of adab al-qada and fiqh al-muhakamat.
I send my greeting and felicitation.......
