i heard ppl saying becoz pig is unclean and its meat has a certain type of virus and it will cause the person who eats it to be sick... therefore they dun touch pork. I do have a few malay frens, and they love char siew .. heee Its a pity not to eat ... I think its silly beliefs.. coz modern science still unable to prove anything... Life without pork , its wasted .. Roasted meat at Crystal jade is a must try!!

Regarding the opinion of Islamic scholars:
- All are in agreement that fish with scales are halal.
- Sunnis consider all fish to be halal, while some Shias consider only shrimp and fish with scales to be halal. Within the Hanafi School of thought, the stronger position is that shellfish (shrimps, lobsters, crabs, clams etc.) are prohibited but in other three mazhab (malaki, shafee, hanbalee) crabs and lobsters are permissible.
- Most agree that frogs are haraam due to the prohibition of killing them in hadith. In fact it is common belief among Southeast Asian Muslims that animals who live on both land and sea (such as amphibians, some reptiles, and some species of bird) are off limits.
Better to follow Sunnis's opinion.
