the finger and hand structure of primate is the same - 5 fingers and toes, simple teeth are the primary traits of all primates
if u mean our thumb performs better on our hand, than perhaps a thumb on a chimpanzee's hand, is because after homo sapiens started walking upright, the usage of the hands became frequent and the flexibility of muscle groups in our hands strengthened day by day

Why Tumb? our Thumb bone structure allow us to move inward...try moving your thumb. it allow homo sapien to carry out alot more function as a hand tool.
