CNY food reminded just now of Big Rabbit Milk Sweet.
I just broke one of my molars on it about two years ago.....during cny period.....at Wild Wild Wet Pasir Ris.
Kinda swearing off them now.
Besides Big Rabbit Milk Sweet, also Quality Street, Kjeldsens butter cookies, Xriten Almond Sweet, Gold Coin Chocolates and the homemade kueh bangkit and almond biscuits.
i remember taxis and buses were not air-conditioned. Taxis have this small fan. And at one time, if you want to load your stuff onto the taxi's boot, you have to pay extra.
And when u alight from the bus, u have to press this button which runs the length of the bus. Sometimes it wont work and u have to try different spots to get the right spot (to close the circuit and create the rinnnnnggg to alert the driver.
Older passenger who boarded the bus sometimes slapped on the bus seats before sitting down. The other day, i saw a late 20s ladies doing that to the mrt seat. I was amazed as it must be painful for her to do that.... She looks like a foreigner.
wahhhh....gold coin chocolates! Now, no one dares to eat them......because they are made in China.
Van Houten Neopolitians! I used to have to source for their packaging materials and steal a few to eat during my rounds at the factory producation lines.
Wearing white coats have its privileges :P

I was just telling my sex school classmates yesterday...about how we were made to pound pandan leaves for the green colour and flavour during home econs class.....
Remember the little blue flowers that colour some of the kueh and blue coloured rice.
My home econs class nber did teach us to identify the plants.
I only knew its pandan leaves......till we were made to pound them......in class. :D
I can imagine the newer generation folks might not even know what pandan leaves looks like.....even if they were frolicking among them leaves in the park.
Oh yes lot of leaves and herbs for cooking in the early days. Now I can't get some of them at Tekka or Chinatown.
Cream horns.....am suddenly having a craving for one.....
