why all want go poly siah ? I know of many mentors who regret going for the courses as they realised that it is not the course they want to go after all.
can always change at uni level what.
hahas heard about RP reputation not that good as the others but well they are the only institution that has that course! furthermore, having a diploma cert from RP would mean that i would have a lower salary than those people who have a diploma cert from any other Poly.
gotta think way ahead my man;D no pun intended (:
lols if only i could go for nautical studies haha
oh......... the gpa score or what must be good right ?

The people who regret are generally the ppl who never think properly b4 they made their choices. A large number belongs to those stupid ppl who joins a course juz becos his/her friends join as well when he/she has 0 interest in that course. That happens quite often and these ppl end up complaining later on and regretting their choice.

There are certain restrictions to ur uni course choices with a poly dip so even with a very high GPA, it might not always be possible to change course unless u go through appeals etc.
However for science and engineering courses especially, poly students tend to have more advantages because of their handson training in poly over their JC peers.
I remember my 1st day of lab in uni and 1 look around u straight away know who from JC who from poly. Its as good as them having the word JC/poly on their heads.
hahas dkcx, make longer holidays la;D

well to my certain level of understanding, Poly prepares you alot for the working world and give you a taste of what you are going to be working in the near future. plus diploma graduate pay is higher than a level holder;p
but JC is like a stepping stone into Uni, but its a big different from sec sch, many are struggling in JC and sadly some are retaining. Usually people join jc because they want to further their studies to uni via the quicker way unlike poly.
most of us prefer poly because it's more of a hands on application and logical based answer rather than pure academic studies in JC
no pun intended. peace!
dkcx u which uni?

Actually the proportion of poly grads getting into local uni is getting higher n higher each yr.
Furthermore alot of my poly peers chooses overseas uni over local uni since poly grads get 1-2 yrs exemptions off courses from overseas uni. My friend who went Aust to study chem eng graduated in 2 yrs while he would have to take 3-4 yrs if he studies in sg.

Not really, my GPA was below 3.5 but then not enough ppl wanna do pure chemistry to make the GPA requirement that high :p Try accountancy and 3.8 might not give u assurance of a place.
no need to study just eat sleep grow fat...
hahas looks like JC losing out already.
oh shit... looks like ppl will be fighting for a place in poly
bryanw, i dun wna grow fat man. last time i was fat then i workout everyday till become fit ald lah haha
how fat can one possibly be? why you workout? fat is healthy, looks better.
well i was overweight back then, now im fit and i was just a point a way to getting gold for napha hahas.
why workout? because being fat or obese can lead to more health complications, you'll be most likely get heart diseases such as high blood presure or a.k.a hypertension, coronary heart disease and also high blood cholesterol. not forgetting diabetes mellitus or diabetes for short.
working out does not only make you look better physically but it reduces the chances of getting such diseases stated above. when you had losen some weight, you would feel more confident with yourself thus improving your efficiency.
hope you all are motivated(:

I guess I had little problems even though I was from JC because I really like electrical circuits a lot, and take electrical engineering :)
Of course, my lab partner in year 1 benefitted tremendously ![]()

LEARNING IS A LIFE LONG PROCESS.
classroom learning is also a life long process.

Won't happen der, don't bother.
Reason is that there are so many courses which poly students are unfairly not allowed to enter, or odds of entry are ridiculously low.
Maybe they should raise the GPA from 4 to 4.5 : D
try getting into troubles with the law ![]()
work and work and enjoy the holidays wif my salary happily ever after:D
